We just had the single worst breakfast experience we have ever had at Puffins in Millbury. Straight off our server didn’t really seem very nice or approachable, but that wasn’t as big of a deal as our food being absolutely disgusting. My fiancé has a dairy allergy, but apparently the kitchen pre-cooks their mushrooms and onions in butter every day. Ok, so no biggie, just cook them in oil right or not in butter, but no, the server came out because the kitchen made a big thing about it. Clearly inexperienced kitchen. Then we waited 40 minutes for a breakfast (all we ordered was bacon and eggs and an omelette while the older couple next to us who sat 15 minutes after we ordered already got their food. I had ordered 2 eggs scrambled , bacon, homefries and toast and an extra over easy egg. The over easy egg was cooked so poorly the server brought it out and told us “I told them overeasy, but this is what they did, do you want me to cook another one?”. It was obliterated, I could not have replicated how overcooked this egg was. I said, um no, forget it, I just don’t want the extra egg. Like, why did you bring it out if you knew it was cooked poorly. My scrambled eggs and bacon were residence inn quality and then the home fries were sooo gross, that is what is pictured. Cooked to where they were all just overcooked, dry, crunchy and tasting like oil and burnt. I didn’t eat more than a bite. My fiancé got an omelette as mentioned and fruit on the side. The omelette along with the running theme of the day was on the overcooked side and the fruit was gross, not only not in season, but actually like potentially sitting around for days fruit. She also ordered avocado on the side since they were out of the side she wanted and could have and that never made it to her plate. Our waitress also never checked up on us once when it was clear we were waiting a well above average amount of time for our food and she never asked us how everything was. I would have told her had she asked, but sadly when I have this bad of an experience and it’s given a blind eye I just had to write this review. To say that I will never be back is an understatement. Holy hell, how do you screw up breakfast this bad.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Warm, family-friendly brunch spot with great service and homestyle food We visited Puffins Restaurant in Millbury on a Saturday morning around 8:30 AM as a group of four adults and two kids. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted by the inviting aroma of homestyle cooking — a warm and welcoming start to our day. The staff were friendly and accommodating. They even offered helpful suggestions for the kids’ meals, including swapping pancakes for French toast in a combo, which turned out to be a great choice. Our order was taken quickly, and food arrived in about 15 minutes — very efficient for a weekend breakfast. We tried a variety of breakfast items including omelets, waffles, toast, and more. The dishes were fresh, well-prepared, and portioned just right. The restaurant was clean and cheerful, with a cozy interior and a lovely outdoor patio setup — we would have loved to sit outside, but weather didn’t cooperate this time. Still, it looked like a great spot for future visits. Plenty of parking was available on either side of the restaurant. Prices felt fair for the quality and portion sizes. ✅ Friendly, helpful staff ✅ Good menu variety and well-prepared food ✅ Cozy interior and nice outdoor seating ✅ Family-friendly environment ✅ Quick service (15 mins) and easy parking ⚠️ (Optional: Sweet potatoes could be softer; tea could be hotter — very minor) Overall, a very pleasant breakfast experience. We’ll definitely be returning — highly recommend Puffins for anyone looking for a comforting brunch in Millbury.

(Of note: I primarily write these reviews for my own business clients who are typically in or nearing retirement. I review establishments I visit that they might like, given the unique demographic of my client base.) If you’re ever in the greater Worcester area, stop here for breakfast! I dropped in with my husband and mother-in-law on a weekday. There’s was plentiful parking and I noticed several handicap spaces available. Wasn’t too busy given it was a Monday morning. We were immediately greeted and we found the place to be bright, well decorated and clean. There was so much choice on the menu. I was delighted to see that they could make gluten free French toast! Which was exactly what I had and it was delicious. My hubby had a platter with eggs and mixed breakfast meats, also looked great. I found the prices to be fair for the quality of the food. I noted that the restrooms were not only clean but gender neutral. This is highly important! It’s welcoming to families with young or disabled individuals and also welcoming to the LGBTQ community. Lastly, there was a variety of seating and easy to get around, which is helpful for seniors and anyone needing some additional accessibility. Great place. We’ll visit again.

While I rarely write reviews, I feel compelled to this time. My family and I had a pretty good experience the first time we had breakfast here the only minor gripe was the service was bit slow but given it was our first time and we were sitting outside on the deck, I didn't hold it against them.

Round 2....we come back a few weeks later for Mother's Day where my two young kids and I wanted to treat my wife, their mother so we got up early and arrived just prior to 8 AM thinking it would be slammed given the holiday. We were happily surprised it was not too busy yet and we were able to sit outside on the deck again.

Once seated, I'm fairly certain they forgot about us. It took over 15 minutes for anyone to come over to us and when it was the guy cleaning the tables outside who said out loud "Wow, it looks like they forgot about you" he took our drink order and I quickly decided to provide our orders as well.

It took over 45 minutes for anyone to come back out to us and a random bus boy was the one brought out our breakfasts. At this point we still had not met anyone who was our waiter/waitress but whatever, we had our food. I also asked for a second cup of coffee, which I'm still waiting for and no one ever came by to ask if everything was ok.

I give everyone the benefit of the doubt but this was abhorrent. Full families with more children arrived, ate, and left before we had even received our orders and the worst part is, the food wasn't bad if you omit the fact that they didn't even cook my wife's hash browns fully.

I will absolutely NEVER go back to this restaurant and I'm really frustrated because I wanted to like it but the second time around proved the first time was not an exception but sadly, a sign of things to come and what you should expect. I hope no one decides to eat...

They were good…once. Over the last three trips I’ve made with my family for breakfast outings. This restaurant has gone from decent to terrible. All three visits over the last four months have become more drastic than the last.

The first visit they were getting a new POS system. We were sat fast, but waited around for 30 minutes to even order after multiple flag downs to the servers. Each time we were given the 1 minute finger and then nothing. Finally put our order in and that took another 45 minutes on a not so busy Tuesday morning. Overall we were there a total of three hours and were told the POS system was the problem. Apparently pen and paper are irrelevant at this establishment. Food came out cooked, but cold.

The second outing was a similar experience except it was met with a lot of attitude by a different server along with our food being undercooked. Food was sent back and a “new” dish arrived longer than expected to and what looked like the previous food being microwaved instead of cooked.

The most recent and final visit was the last straw. Sat fast, ordered quick and then nothing for almost an hour. Our food came out cold, rubbery and highly undercooked. Our server was barely attentive to our table. When asked for more coffee, I got an eye roll like it was a pain for him to give me more coffee after having an empty cup for 30 minutes. We complained to the server about everything and they comped our drinks and told us we were lucky to even had that offered.

Apparently the new POS system has changed how they run their business overall. Undercooked food, cold fully cooked food that sits around for who knows how long before being served, rude servers that don’t give you the time of day or make it known their job is too much a chore for them. It’s a great...
