I don't know why we still go here once in awhile... maybe because we remember what it used to be and is no longer.
Wife wanted me to pick up something quick on the way home from work yesterday and suggested Moe's. I said "are you sure" and she said yes, she wanted tacos and considers the chicken at Chipotle a little too spicy for her.
I ordered online... two chicken tacos, one ground beef for her, 3 chicken tacos for me, and a steak quesadilla to share. Online told me it would be ready in 15 minutes, which I didn't believe for a second, but I got there on-time... and waited over another 30 minutes for my food. Staff behind the counter indicated they were "having trouble" with online orders. I look around the empty restaurant (2 tables with people), I look at the one person in line, I look at the 4 other online order people standing and waiting, I look at the 5 people behind the counter with only one person actually doing anything, and I shake my head.
I eventually get my order, see that there is no salsa with the chips and go over to the salsa bar to get a couple containers to go. The salsa bar has an empty El Guapo bowl, an almost empty (and somewhat crusty) Kaiser bowl, and a very watery looking bowl of tomatillo salsa. I say something to the counter staff and get the proverbial 50,000' stare (I wish I could take my online tip back)... so I get a couple containers of tomatillo and hit the road.
5 minutes to home, we open the food (wife is starving at this point)... my order is wrong (and cold), her order is a soggy mess (and cold), and the steak quesadilla? Not much steak, but a ton of fat/gristle (and cold). How can it possibly be cold when I get it right when they make it, put it directly in a hot bag, and its no more than 5 minutes to the house? Don't know, but cold food is one of the reasons we stopped going to Moe's regularly.
Turned to the chips in the hope of getting something salvagable out of the meal... stale with some being mouth puckering salty and most having no salt at all (like someone poured the salt in one corner of the batch and it never got mixed/spread).
We again vow never to go to Moe's again... but I'm sure in 6-12 months we will go back and vow to never go again... again.
This place used to be our favorite fast taco/burrito place when it first opened... but its been a disaster...
Read moreI have been a multi-times per week customer at Moe's at other locations (different states). I have always loved the food.
But I have to say I greatly disliked BOTH of my experiences at this Moe's. On 6/18, the staff at the counter were not courteous, and the food was prepared so sloppily. I understand this happens with fast food. But there were no other customers waiting in line. I pretty much left like the employees didn't care that I was actually planning to eat what they were slopping around.
Second visit was 7/6. My family requested to take me there for a quick bite, knowing how much I love Moe's. I was happy to give this one another try. Sad to say, it was an even worse experience. An employee named Taylor rolled her eyes twice at my requests. When I asked for queso after she prepared by burrito, she stated in a very irritated way, "I don't get the queso, someone else does." Ok then. Then when my disabled brother was trying to order, she yelled "I can't understand you!" and proceeded to throw the food down and roll her eyes when she was done fixing it. None of the other employees working had an ounce of pleasantness about them. Every customer was a bother to them.
On top of the ultra rude staff, the portion sizes are the worst. I have eaten at at least a dozen different Moe's. This location by far were the most stingy with portions. My burrito bowl was half full. My burrito was flat. BOTH times I visited I was shocked at how little food I got compared to previous orders of the same items at other locations. Shockingly disappointing after you got terrible service.
The management here needs to make some major changes. For now, I will reluctantly be eating...
