In the world of cuisine, there are few moments when one stumbles upon something that transcends the ordinary, and today, I find myself immersed in just such an experience. Oh Mai Out the Door—an intriguing name for a delivery, yet one that delivers in more ways than anticipated.
The coconut soup, a delicate dance of sweetness, creaminess, and a subtle tang, is an exercise in balance. These flavors, disparate on their own, come together in a harmonious crescendo, delicately wrapping themselves around the fernroot noodles. It is, without question, a triumph of flavor and texture.
And then, there is the turmeric rice and turmeric chicken—a dish so simple in concept yet executed with such finesse that it borders on the extraordinary. The chicken, tender and moist, sings with the rich earthiness of turmeric, accentuated by a perfectly charred exterior that speaks of careful attention to detail. The rice, too, is a revelation—a burst of flavor with just the right amount of heat, bold yet restrained, leaving the palate wanting for nothing more.
As for the drinks and desserts, they offer the perfect coda to this symphony of flavors. The Ube Coffee, an unexpected delight, walks the line between strength and sweetness, a balance that is rare yet welcome. The strawberry matcha, with its refreshing sweetness and earthy undertones, serves as the final note in a meal that is, in a word, sublime.
And to think, all of this from the comfort of one’s home. Oh Mai Out the Door is not merely a convenience; it is a masterclass in how the ordinary can become extraordinary when handled with care...
Read moreWe love this place! Service has been amazing every time we have been in. The food is fresh and so flavorful. The takeout packing is awesome as well especially for the soups. Our favorites have been the coconut soup, turmeric curry soup and the ribeye pho. The avocado rolls are beautiful and delicious.
Tonight we tried a couple different items unfortunately we ordered the mango salad and when we picked up they told us they didn’t have mangos. Wish they had updated the online ordering since we were kind of set on that one. She offered to substitute a different dish and no extra cost so we decided to try the turmeric curry chicken noodle salad. It was delicious. The turmeric curry soup was very flavorful and good but we did request fernroot vermicelli noodles and we only got regular vermicelli noodles. Last time we were in the ladies told us to order the turmeric soup with fernroot and we would be disappointed so hopefully next time we can get the fernroot noodles. Seems like tonight was a little off from the norm for them but we all have off days. I love Oh Mai and cannot wait to try more items from this...
Read moreMy mom and I had lunch yesterday at Oh Mai Mill Creek. Though it’s obvious from the name, for some reason, we didn’t realize that it was not eat-in. However, they did let us eat in the restaurant at one of their small tables. The food was so fresh and delicious. The menu is really interesting. I am vegetarian and I never have felt like I had so many delicious options. We shared a papaya salad and a mango salad and an order of the fruit fresh rolls. They were all over the top amazing. We also had a kumquat passionfruit lemonade, which was so yummy. Refreshing, sweet, slightly tangy. We ate the mango sticky rice for dessert and it was so good. it wasn’t the average mango sticky rice – they added shredded coconut and puréed the mango in a way that was so satisfying. The owner and staff were incredibly kind and clearly passionate about serving fresh, delicious food. I purchased ginger sambal and their chili oil to take home. They also have a soy vinaigrette and pickled items that you can purchase to go. The quality of everything is excellent. I would...
