This place is so special, it's more than just food, it's a whole experience. I'm so glad I finally got a chance to check it out, if you're wanting to check it out as well I definitely recommend reservations as they get super busy. We made reservations via the OpenTable app a week prior, this place is super delicious so it gets booked up fast. They have lots of parking available and even some outdoor seating if you want some fresh air. We like to dress up a little for date night but you can definitely get by in a pair of jeans here if you need to.
Even from outside, as you're walking up you can smell the amazing food. Once you're inside the atmosphere just totally takes you across the sea to Italy. There was even some amazing singing at one point and everyone joined in that knew the song, it was SO fun. You can tell that they take great pride in everything they do. Even looking at my photos you can see the great care they took in plating our meals, they really love what they do and it absolutely shines through.
Our waiter Stein was amazing, he was super attentive and best of all he recommended THE best RosƩ that complemented our entire meal. He kept our glasses full and was super patient with me when I couldn't make up my mind. Don't be shy, let em know what you like and they can make excellent recommendations.
We started with the Arancino and Caprese salad and both were so amazing. The Arancino was huge, definitely more than enough for the two of us. The outside was hot and crispy and the inside was super cheesy and had the tastiest Bolognese sauce. They served it on top of two different sauces, both were amazing but I liked the Alfredo the most. The Caprese was so fresh, the house made cheese was absolutely delicious and they paired it with some really fresh veggies. I also can't fail to let you know about the amazing pesto they serve with the bread, try to leave room for pasta y'all! Also the Antipasto looked like an absolute work of art, I have to try it next time.
For my main dish I had the toughest time deciding, everything looked and smelled delicious. I finally made up my mind and went for the Spaghetti Cozze e Vongole. I haven't had this dish since I lived in Naples, I'd been avoiding having it stateside because I didn't want to be disappointed, WELL WELL WELL, let me tell you, this was anything but a disappointment. The presentation was a work of art, the mussels and clams were delicious and the sauce they served it with was just heavenly. The pasta had a perfect texture and the portion was very large, enough for leftovers.
My Husband had the fish of the day which was a delicious grilled Branzino served with equally delicious grilled veggies. The flavor and texture of the fish was absolutely perfect. Again the portion was surprisingly large and enough for leftovers, the food was so delicious the leftovers didn't even make it to the fridge tho. We couldn't leave without trying the Tiramisu which was again, a little masterpiece. They serve it in such a beautiful way and it tastes super dreamy, I definitely recommend saving room for it.
We had SUCH a great time and are so happy to add this to our list of favorite date nights spots, thank you to all of the staff for such an amazing experience, we can't wait to come back and try all of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLike many have mentioned, the location of this restaurant throws you for a loop. Itās located in a strip mall near a grocery store. This quaint restaurant is one for the books. The food was fantastic. The service was fantastic. It wasnāt just a mealāit was an experience. Faye was our waitress, and she was great. We had a lot of tableside experiences, and she provided a lot of history about the restaurant and its products. She also shared a few jokes and was overall very personable.
We were immediately asked about any food allergies or time restraints they should be aware of to make our experience the best. We were provided a list of recommendationsāand we tried all of them.
We started our meal with Polpette Della Nonna, or meatballs in tomato sauce served with homemade bread. So good! Everyone at the table agreed we would get it again. We moved on to a Caesar salad that was prepared tableside, and that was a cool experience. Faye came out with all of the ingredients and prepared it right before our eyes. We split the salad between two people, and that was plenty.
Next, we ordered the Signature Carbonara, another tableside item. They brought out the big Parmesan cheese wheel and even played with fireācan it get better? We also ordered the Pachero Pancetta E Burrata, which includes a pistachio cream sauce. Both pastas were delicious. Going back and forth between the two, it was hard to decide which was my favorite. When we come back, we will definitely order both dishes again.
We ended our meal with the Bistecca Alla Toscana, or the Piedmontese ribeye. Again, this was prepared tableside with fire. The meat was cooked to perfection and had a great blend of flavor and aroma.
We left the restaurant completely stuffed, with leftovers to enjoy later. I would definitely come back. A few recommendations: make a reservation, come hungry, and expect higher pricesābut...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSicilia Mia is like the crown jewel in Utah's culinary world. Chef Giuseppe and his team never cease to amaze their guests, by constantly pushing their level of excellence with each new dish. The ambience is so sophisticated, warm and inviting. It's perfect for date night! I have eaten there numerous times, this time however I was adamant about trying dishes I would usually pass by. First came the Speck and Dates. The salt from the speck, the sweetness from the dates and sharpness from the parmesan, instantly made my tastebuds dance and crave more. Next came The Tuna Crudetto and La Insalata Di Caesar, to lighten up my pallet. Both were done exceptionally well and I thoroughly enjoyed watching my Chef prepare my salad right infront of me. Now it was time for The Carbonara and The Ravioli in Sage Butter. The Carbonara was rich and deep in flavor, where as the Ravioli was like laying a flavor filled silk pillow in your mouth. Eating this super delicate dish literally bought a tear to my eye, as it felt like a warm hug from my Nonna. When I thought I couldn't fit another morsel of food in, than came The Branzino Saltimbocca. I will never again go to Sicilia Mia and not order this dish. I had to use every ounce of will power I had in me, to not pick up the plate and lick every last bit of sauce off of it. It was exquisite! But don't worry I composed myself and remembered I was a lady just in time for Torta Della Nonna(Olive Oil Cake). It was light, fluffy and filled my space with a sweet lemon aroma. Other dishes which I highly recommend at Sicilia Mia are their Capricciosa Pizza(add anchovies), Cioppino(Seafood Stew) and all their desserts. Sicilia Mia...
