I rarely write reviews unless my experience is either incredibly impressive, which is a rarity, or completely disappointing, like it was tonight. I decided against Wendy's and CookOut because their lines were long, nearly reaching the street. I saw the other day that Zaxby's was open until 11:00, and decided to give it a shot (by the way this is at 10:45). However, as I approached, I felt something was off when I saw the dark parking lot with no cars in sight. Then I was relieved to see the taillights of a vehicle near the drive-thru. Oh they closed early I thought, then I heard a voice thru the intercom.
To my surprise, the ordering area that should have been brightly lit was completely dark, making it hard to read the menu. I had to rely on memory since I don't visit often. I chose a House Salad and added a Big Zax Snack as a backup, just in case the salad didn't meet my expectations, giving me two options. Upon reaching the window and handing over my card, the employee didn't say a word, nor did she engage when she returned my card and drink, even after I expressed my thanks. Almost immediately, I noticed something was wrong with the drink—it was barely filled and had hardly any ice. I politely asked if she could fill it to a reasonable level, and she silently took the cup, pressed the button for less than a second, but it still didn’t fill up. I suspect they might have run out of ice; otherwise, why wouldn't they add it to a fountain drink? Although I intended to keep quiet, out of habit thanked her when she was handing me the bag of food, yet she remained silent. A moment later, I saw another employee and asked, “Ma’am, what’s her name?” To my disbelief, they both replied, “Mya or Mia!” So she could speak after all!
This experience was undoubtedly the worst I’ve ever had. When evaluating a restaurant, three key factors should be considered: service, food, and atmosphere. There was a complete lack of service, and the food should never have been served in that condition. They should have either refused to serve it or prepared something fresh and edible. Why advertise that your establishment closes at 11:00 if you're not willing to meet that expectation? It felt as if they really closed at 10:00 but were serving leftovers to unsuspecting customers. Am I asking too much to expect the same quality as those dining at 2:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m., or 7:00 p.m. along with the same courteous service? Unless I’m receiving a discount for leftovers and enduring rudeness, a simple thank you, apology, or any acknowledgment regarding the drink would have sufficed. Do they also get their pay cut after 10:00 or something? The toast was hard and dry, and I experienced what others have described as inedible, tough chicken in both my Zax Snack and salad. Why would anyone put two distinctly different chicken fingers on a salad when one looked extremely old? I would’ve loved to have spoken with a manager if one had been on duty and return the food, but I seriously doubt there was one. If a manager was present, something is amiss with their management. I wish I had read the reviews before visiting tonight; it left a sour taste...
Read moreI recently stopped coming to this Zaxby's of Milledgeville because of the food quality and high prices is horrible. I ordered a Wings and Things with everything in Hot Honey Mustard Sauce. Everything was good and fresh Except the Wings. Zaxby's needs to STOP serving Old Traditional Wings (Bone-In Wings.) The wings I got today smelled old and tasted like they were two weeks old. I couldn't eat them. Now, I paid $15.00 for some old wings and that ain't right. I had a feeling that something wasn't fresh, because of how fast they handed it to me at the drive-thru window. So I had a feeling the wings were old. This isn't the first time either that I got a Wings and Things and the wings were bad, everytime I spent my money at this Zaxby's, the food has been bad, from the wings to the salad. The salad be the worst, they give you a $5.00 salad and charge $13.00. This is the very reason I stopped coming to this restaurant. They don't care about the quality of food that they give their customers, but we the people are the ones that are buying old spoiled food and it isn't right to the customers at all. They need to clean house and get people in there that cares about their food and customers, because I definitely won't be spending my money there no more until some changes be...
Read moreBlue cheese chicken salad was nasty. There might've been a fourth of a cup of grilled chicken on it and the rest was lettuce and a mushy tomato. It was a very dull salad because it's tomato was inedible and I was left with mostly lettuce as I could not eat the croutons or the bread because of gluten sensitivity. They both looked pretty good. I came home and remade the salad by adding things to it to live it up. It was a huge salad made of mostly greens. It was so large that two packets of dressing did not cover it even though I added olive oil to it. I was sorely disappointed in the portion of me for $10.89! I know times are hard but that's ridiculous if I'm going to spend $10 on a damn salad, I deserve a decent portion of meat. Everything tested pretty good except of course the tomato, but I would've been bored out of my mind if I had not come home and added some avocado onion and cucumber to it. The blue cheese that was on there tasted rancid and I threw it out. Blue cheese is kind of rotten in taste anyway, but this tasted like it had gone bad. I will try and find something else to eat next time. My options are limited there since I cannot have fried food and it is mostly...
