I’m new to the area, this was my first and last time visiting China One. I was extremely disappointed. First of all the menu was lacking they don’t have items that all Chinese restaurants have on the menu. You order through a window and the kitchen is all the way in the back. You can’t even enter the restaurant beyond that window. It’s weird. Second, the food wasn’t authentic they add some red sauce to give it color/flavor. The combination sesame chicken comes with pork fried rice and a egg roll. Not mine it was yellow rice with onions! That was cold, like just came out of the refrigerator cold. My daughter said the tiny egg roll was ok! This is the worst Chinese Food I’ve ever had. Look at the sesame chicken, why is it pink/orange?

The reviews are so bad I felt like I had to leave one. I am originally from NJ, home of the best Chinese food anywhere. I stopped here after grocery shopping, and paid before I read the reviews. I got home terrified of what I had done. The food isn’t THAT damn bad. Yes, the pork fried rice has no pork. But it’s actually decent anyway. We got chicken and broccoli, the chicken wasn’t slimy at all and the sauce had flavor. The sesame chicken was orange-ish, and a lil spicy for sesame but again, pretty good. The egg rolls were good, and crispy, and the oil on it didn’t taste bad at all. Either y’all are dramatic or they did better. The lady at the window was so so sweet.

I placed an order through DoorDash and they were very rude and did not want to change the order, too expensive and we waited almost an hour for our order and they made us complain to DoorDash when they were the ones who made the mistake of placing the order wrong.

For everyone rating this place above 1-2 stars stop lying.

This is absurd, yes finding decent Chinese food in Sussex county is like catching a fish on the first cast.

It’s not happening.

I rolled the dice anyway because I’m starting a new diet and wanted to enjoy a big bad meal beforehand, and so I order general tso, that’s a safe bet right? It’s easy, water or stock, then add cornstarch, light sugar, and Szechuan peppers. The more the merrier on the peppers honestly. Gets spicy and thickens.

Then you toss the “supposed” fresh fried chicken in the sauce and serve. I put that in quotations because of my frozen egg roll is expired I’m literally mortified at the idea of consuming this “chicken”.

If they can’t thaw an egg roll they sure as hell don’t care about protein regulations. At this point o wouldn’t be surprised if cats or roaches made my food.

It’s not rocket science. It’s general tsos, the easiest of all Chinese American dishes aside from sesame and sweet and sour only because you have to count the peppers before scorching someone. Which doesn’t even pertain to me because I’ve been asking Chinese restaurants to make my food spicy for 15 years and only of them in Pittsburgh could understand what SPICY MEANS. sure I’m white, I don’t care, make it like you’d cook it for your yeye on his death bed. I want flavor not sugar water.

They literally sent me sweet and sour chicken, that is soaked in red dye 40, sugar, corn starch, and water.I can’t even eat it, it’s disgusting and only angers me to the point where I’m so dumbfounded that someone thought this was acceptable and I’m writing my first ever negative google review as a chef with 15 years of experience.

That’s how angry this garbage made me. I’ve worked as a chef in white table cloth haute cuisine across the country and the dingy kitchens of ocean city. This is truly the most embarrassing trash I’ve ever witnessed.

It would be fine if I ordered sweet poison.

Not even a hint of salt, or at the very least a sprinkle of msg to try and simulate umami.

They’ve truly taken the cake when it comes to disrespecting an entire cultures cuisine.

Even the Chinese American options taste like my gecko made them.

The egg roll was sour, how the hell do you have spoiled frozen egg rolls? I know for damn sure not a single person is skilled enough to roll a wonton and fry it consistently. They’re obviously frozen and you still send me spoiled frozen food.

It’s shameful, and embarrassing. Every single human in this establishment has brought dishonor upon their family and should admit to being con men.

Wawa has a better egg roll and it’s a damn gas station.

There is no way in hell that anyone working there thinks this is general tsos or even tastes good.

I genuinely hope whoever made this pile of manure seeks better employment, because they sure as hell can’t cook.

Edit: I don’t know why I thought the lo mein would have any redeeming factors. Suppose I wanted to see how much they got from me monetary wise.

The house special lo mein has enough oil in it for the US to invade. One singular forkful is probably enough oil to coat your intestines and provide a less than solid experience for you the next day.

It’s like a bunch of lo mein noodles soaked in a dash of hoisin(you can hardly taste it all) and then they added the idea of oyster sauce and msg, not the ingredients themselves but the idea of them.

Then they completed this culinary atrocity with, I kid you not, what tastes and feels like an entire 1/2 cup of sesame oil.

Who is cooking? Why? What did I do to you? What did anyone do? Who hurt you? This isn’t food it’s flat out poison...
