La Tonalteca Millsboro DE — Restaurant in Millsboro

I came in shortly after this restaurant opened, I was eagerly greeted and shown to my table. As soon as I was seated I was asked what did I want to drink and what my order was, since this was my first time in the restaurant, I informed the waitress that I would need to look at the menu. My drink, chips and salsa arrived quickly. After about 10 minutes still no sight of the watress... so I got up walk over to the waitress to inform her what I wanted. I ordered tacos and carnitas. The food came out to me super quickly, the plate was nice and hot, however, only problem with that was the food on the plate was cold in the middle, I decided to push that plate aside and just eat the tacos. They were good. The waitress came back over an asked how everything was....I told her the tacos were good, I didn't get to try the carnitas because they were cold along with the beans on the plate. She then said, "I'm sorry, I can take them back, I know you are never coming back." I simply asked for a to-go plate and the check. Then I believe management came over and apologized too, the only problem is there are signs displayed clearly saying "There are no returns on food" I didn't want to risk having anyone tamper with my food after the fact. I was charged a completely different price for the tacos than what was listed on the menu. When I asked the waitress what was going with the difference in price on the menu, verses what I was charged?? She said soft tacos are a different price ( keep in mind... it doesn't say that anywhere on the menu). Needless to say, I paid, but she's right....I will never be back! So much for first...

Let me just start by saying that I've enjoyed my visits to this particular string of restaurants in many other places. This instance was unpleasant to say the least. Started out being sat at a dirty table and being told to "just move to another table" while they talked bad about us in Spanish. My girlfriend knows spanish. This wasn't a huge deal. Then we were served beer that has been expired since 2017 of December. Brought this up and the drinks were taken off the bill. The waitress didn't understand anything I was saying and got our order wrong. Then when we were finished we were asked if we needed boxes. We both asked for boxes and my plate was taken away with my food on it. The waitress returned with a box for my girlfriend. Asked about my food and it was "thrown out". I told her that I had asked for a box as well and she was very apologetic. Five minutes later she returns with a box with is what i assume to be my leftovers. I dont know about anyone else but my food left the table, was "thrown out" and then returned in a box which I wasn't very pleased with. My food left my sight. Was thrown out? Now it's back at the table. Took 15 minutes to talk to the manager who then sat on her phone and did not bother to help us past trying to remake my food as I'm trying to leave. Not a great experience and I dont apply this to any of there other locations. I dont recommend going to this location. Expired beer! Proof in the photo! Would rate a ZERO if I could! I rarely go here but we decided to go here for a late lunch with my family. I ordered what I have before nachos and this time when I got it the plate of supposedly nachos it didn't look good at all. MY smaller children didn't eat what they ordered And my older son took 2 bites of his Burrito. I ate 1 taco that my daughter ordered and my fiance ate 1 taco of his. We asked for boxes to box up everything and go! Well I was boxing the last plate and notice it had a Cockroach crawling on the inside of his taco meat 🤢 we told our waiter and they said they will give us a full refund (which I have yet to receive since 8/10/23) EDITED 08/22/23 and still no refund, called and never got a call back. We both got sick (food poisoning) after 30-45 minutes after leaving the restaurant. Will NEVER go here again!...
