I haven’t been inside an Applebee’s in maybe over 6 years. Today a was a busy Monday - we celebrated my daughter’s bday over the weekend but today was her actual bday. I wanted to go somewhere local and quick for dinner. I chose Applebees in Milltown and I chose WRONG. Host was blah, server was kind of distracted even though it wasn’t busy at all. Appetizers came out good from what we saw and the kids food I made their plates and nothing was wrong with it. When my husband’s food came out he found a hair in his fries. At the same time I dipped my wings in sauce and I pulled a huge long hair from someone's head out of my mouth. Literally horrible BUT Since I just wanted to sing to my daughter and go home we very calmly asked for them to remake the food. It came back. The moment my husband picked up the sandwich and took a bite the same hair was under the sandwich. I only had one wing put it down was grossed out. The manager came back - he suggested it was my husband’s hair. Really? My husband eats everyday at home his hair is never in his food. I asked the manager what color the cooks hair was. He said black. WELL this hair is black!!! Like we haven’t eaten any of the food you brought us, we were nice about it the first time then you were going to accuse us of planting it in the food? The Monday shift over there is something else idk what it’s like n the weekend when they are busy. The lights are so dim everyone is probably eating hair over there and you don’t even know. We left my daughter never got her birthday dessert and we had to stop for ice cream and sing to her at home with a candle in ice cream. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else this place is not worth your time or memorable days made into a stressful time. They comped the”meal” even though I couldn’t even eat lol but I would have rather paid hundreds somewhere else not to deal with this or have the memory of my daughters bday be this

Went to this location on Sunday June 2nd for dinner. Walked in to find host sitting down on his phone and 2nd host walked up to seat us. Floor at our table was dirty. Waitress was nice but not very attentive. Food was underwhelming. A big party left right after we were seated and floor was left in the condition of the pictures. As we left we saw our waitress sitting down near bar on phone with the host that was on the phone when we walked in. Poor management. We used to enjoy going here but after 2 bad experiences here we will not be coming back.

So Here’s my honest opinion, this isn’t the first time I have been to Applebees, but few days back I just went for triple meltdown.. because I was craving it and it never disappoints. Always a solid choice! Applebee’s has great menu, friendly service, and a casual vibe. Perfect for a laid-back meal with friends or family. Definitely recommend the classic burgers and appetizers! And don’t miss the triple meltdown. Trust me you will love it if you haven’t tried it.

FIRST VISIT Normally I'd have something much nicer to say but today was terrible. Our server was Mikayla and she didn't pay our table much attention. From the moment we sat down, she seemed uninterested in serving us. We ordered alcoholic drinks and water(which we never got the whole stay). She came back after about 15 minutes with our drinks and then took our order. The food came out fine, however my friend asked for steak sauce. She didn't get it until she finished the rest of her food. We also had a problem with my other friend's drink. She comped that, which was unexpected, but she seemed not to really care much. We also wanted to order more drinks with her and she replied with "You guys are nearing your limit" which I've honestly never heard. Now if she thought we were intoxicated, she clearly didn't hear my loud mouth when we first sat down and ordered drinks(or maybe she did because I complained about not getting something with it that was advertised and she brought it out with the next round of drinks) And even now that I'm writing this review, she walked over, asked if the money on the table was for her and insinuated that I was intoxicated because I and writing and my friends were in the restroom and I didn't know if they would be leaving more. I normally have a good time but our server just made it unbearable tonight.

SECOND VISIT My friend invited me out to dinner. I was a little skeptical because of my last visit but decided to go. Our waiter was awful! We waited for about 15 minutes before he came over and he just asked us if we were ready to order. We were a little confused because he didn't even ask us if we wanted to order drinks. My friend knew what he wanted and when he said "boneless wings", the waiter said he'd give us a few minutes and left. After another 15 minutes, he came back again and took our food and drink orders. I had a few questions about customizing my order and he said he would talk to the chef. After about 10 minutes, we finally got our beverages and my friend asked our waiter if he could get the chef and ask about my order. The waiter said he already took care of it, but I hadn't order my side dishes. Fast forward about 20 minutes and our entrees and appetizers came out at the same time. We decided to eat, since we were hungry. Our waiter never came back over on his own, however we were able to flag down another waitress named Kait and she was phenomenal. She got us another round of drinks and got the manager for us. When we spoke with him, he just replied with "well we were busy tonight" and he thanked us and left. It wasn't just us that said he was bad either; the table next to is also said it as well. IF I decide to go back, I will ask to be seated in either Kait or...

1-Star Review for Applebee’s – Monday, July 14th

As a family that frequents this Applebee’s location, we were appalled by the service we received tonight. We arrived at 8:32 PM after a movie, expecting a normal, quiet dinner. The restaurant was nearly empty—just a few at the bar and some scattered families—yet we sat at our table for 20 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us.

Eventually, a visibly annoyed waitress (no introduction, no smile, no notepad) came over to take our order. We placed everything at once: five drinks, three appetizers, and two entrées. We weren’t trying to be difficult—we all work in customer service. My parents have over 25 years of experience, and I’ve worked the floor for four. We get it. But this wasn’t a rush. This was sheer apathy.

My Pepsi arrived flat and pale. We kindly suggested the syrup bag might be low and asked for a new one. Instead of checking, she offered a different drink entirely. After some back and forth, she returned with the same drink and a water, claiming she changed the bag—she didn’t. It still tasted awful. I let it go and sipped the water.

Then came the mozzarella sticks and the kids’ pizza—one out of three appetizers and no entrées. We waited an hour. At 9:22 PM, we flagged down a random hostess because our server had vanished. The hostess brought over the manager, Jose M., who listened to our frustration and gave us nothing but a flat “okay.” No apology. No urgency. Just dead eyes.

Turns out, our server never put the full order in. The food had not even been started. When Jose returned with this information, he had no solution—just said “the meal is on me” in the most disinterested tone possible.

So a mom, dad, and three kids left hungry after being told the kitchen would “start it now.” We were too upset to wait any longer. We got up and left. We didn’t pay for the 4.5 drinks, kids’ pizza, or mozzarella sticks—as the manager said it would be comped. We weren’t offered the rest of our food to-go, and by that point, we wouldn’t have taken it anyway.

We’ve worked too long in this industry to excuse such poor customer service. This team lacked communication, accountability, and even basic courtesy. If your staff can’t be bothered to do the bare minimum, then they shouldn’t be on the floor representing your brand.

This experience was unacceptable—and we...
