The Grandma slice, pictured on the left had a delicious thin crust. The crust was a combination of crispy and dense. The sauce was extremely fresh tasting. Excess olive oil really compliments the crust of the grandma slice. The cheese was on the crispier side and did not slather off the slice when bites were taken. It stayed neat and well-attached to the slice.
The Margarita slice pictured on the right had a delicious thin crust with a crispy, but not overcooked, bottom. The mozzarella tasted very fresh and stretched to a good length when bites were taken. The basil leaves coated in the olive oil add a nice flavor profile to the slice. The excess oil makes your fingers greasy, but the taste is not overpowering .
Overall, the Grandma slice is my favorite I have tried from this pizzeria. The sauce that the pizzeria uses really sets this pizzeria apart from others. It's so fresh and filled with herbs and spices. The wood ovens that the pizzeria uses are authentic and you can see a large pile of split wood in back of the pizzeria when you drive behind it. The atmosphere is very pleasant and the employees are polite and friendly. The eating area is broken into two sections. One section, the area next to the main door, has two large televisions, the drink refrigerators, and the soda fountain. A quieter area off to the side of the counter allows for a more comfortable group setting and is cozy and excluded from the high-traffic area of the door and TV noise. The parking lot is small and can be challenging to make a left out of, due to the traffic on Ryder Lane. This pizzeria makes a good spot to watch the soccer game while enjoying a slice or a cozy...
Read moreJust stopped in on my lunch break to get a few slices. Very rarely do I buy lunch but I was unable to get my lunch packed before leaving this morning. I work 8-8 as a Physical Therapist Assistant and I had $10 left until payday, so I thought. I went to run my card and to my surprise, it was declined. I was visually upset when realizing that ill be working a 12 hour shift without some type of food to eat. The young woman at the counter, without hesitation, said "don't worry, im going to give you the slices." When I offered to bring the money in on Friday, she told me not to worry about it. It was incredibly generous and I can't say that everyone would do that for me.
To me, pizza is a family experience. And I frequently say to people that I enjoy when pizzerias give you those "family vibes" without being provoked. This woman created that experience for me and helped someone who works in their community. I hate to admit that I am walking around without enough money to buy a couple of slices, but I needed to show this young lady my appreciation for helping someone in need. Thats what I do for a living... take care of people in our community and it was refreshing to see that other businesses are doing the same. Thank you to this pizzeria and beautiful woman for reminding me that genuine and caring people still exist.
PS- the pizza was better than the story. They have some creative and amazing items on their menu. Very VERY clean and well decorated restaurant. If you're in the area, I highly recommend...
Read moreWent to this BYOB on a blustery Saturday evening for dinner about 5:45pm. Had not been here for years, since before pre-pandemic. Despite the inclement weather, the full service area was about 1/2 full upon arrival and nearly at capacity when we departed. And, think we realized why… We were greeted warmly and told to sit at any table of two of our choosing, which occurred immediately. Our server soon arrived with a basket of 4 warm and delicious rolls with butter. It’s nice not having to ask for bread, which many places don’t even offer nowadays. When we reviewed the menus, we quickly noticed the very reasonable prices… nearly every entree under $20, and included either soup or salad. We had a house salad that was loaded and a pasta fagioli soup, both tasty and generous portions, followed by similar entrees of Chicken Milanese and Lasagna. The chicken dish was a bit bland and meh, so minus star. Also shared a Canoli for dessert and the filing was especially excellent. Overall, service was superb… responsive, just the right amount of attention, polite and friendly. And, a couple big criteria for me regarding atmosphere are cleanliness and noise level. It was a spotless dining room, even the condiments tray was shiny, and acoustics were great....
