I had such a nice experience here. The staff was polite and worked fast. 💸The total check was $70 ($35 per person). 🧃At first, we ordered drinks: Orange Ramune, Strawberry Ramune. It's served in bottles and tricky opened. In my opinion, the Strawberry Ramune is more tasty than orange. But next time, I'm not going to order them ;) We choose 3 rolls from the exoctic section: 🍣Yoshi Special Roll $16.50 was incredibly delicious. It says that it has light spicy, but it was super light (it's OK for me because I am scared of super spicy food). Super soft and melt in mouth, all ingredients were well thought out and perfectly matched with each other: shrimp tempura, spicy crab meat, cream cheese, topped with avocado, spicy mayo, unagi sause, cranch. Roll was a huge, more than other rolls. Definitely deserve attention, and now it’s clear why they are branded. 🍤 Dragon Roll $16.50. However, the first roll was tastier. Anyway, all the ingredients were fresh: shrimp tempura, crab meat, cucumber, topped with avocado, BBQ eel, and unagi sause. I'm sure a lot of people will like this roll. 🦁Lion King Roll was hot and had strong salmon flavor. If you like baked salmon, it's roll for you. I like how it served: on a leaf (a great idea).
⛩️I like the interior (they have ~20 tables), in the middle of the room you can watch your meal being prepared, everything was clean.
Thank you,...
Read moreYoshi Sushi, nestled in the heart of the Milpitas Town Center behind City Hall and beside Safeway, is an absolute culinary haven. Stepping into this local gem, one is immediately greeted by a spread ranging from sizzling hot appetizers to the artistry of classic sushi rolls. The nigiri and sashimi specials are a symphony of flavors, with deluxe offerings that are nothing short of exquisite. For those seeking warmth and comfort, their udon and ramen noodle soups are soul-soothing, complemented by hearty hot entree plates reminiscent of traditional bentos.
Beyond the food, the experience is elevated by their spirited staff. The playful banter between sushi chef Alex and server Neeshi adds a touch of humor, and the twin servers, Tina and Rose, ensure every guest feels special. Read moreThis place still has amazing food. But I cannot justify the dine in experience had here. The whole moving to digital only for placing your order cheapened the experience. Less than year ago I took my partner here and when we got a dessert the server even put a heart with strawberry syrup on top of it. Amazing job!
Considering you no longer interact with wait staff other than getting seated and water refills/occasional checkins, that personal touch is gone. Moreover, seeing folks who aren’t the smartphone wielding type have to stare at a tablet provided by waiting staff seems like a tone deaf way to address those who cannot or will not embrace the digital age.
It’s okay to have this digital-only experience. But it is not okay to make it the only option. It wastes time in the ordering process. Embrace both paper menus and digital.
This explains why it wasn’t busy on the weekend. And it’s unfortunate because this was one of my favorite sushi spots and their chicken katsu is still excellent.
Consider doing take out here, you won’t find the atmosphere you’re looking for; unless that atmosphere is staring at your phone for the first half...
