I really wanted to love this place considering I’m from Chicago, but nothing says Chicago less than this establishment. I’ve been meaning to stop in for 3 and a half years now and I thought today would be the day I would check it all out.
I’ll start with what I did like (which wasn’t much) The ambience was dope. All the Chicago memorabilia, flags, and banners were nice, it brought me back home. I also liked how the bar was setup, reminds me of a spot back home. Lastly, they have TVs on every wall which is a plus. You can catch the action from any seat in the house.
The bad:
Service: nonexistent is an understatement. I sat there for an hour and I saw not 1 true server/customer interaction on the floor. It was pretty sad considering the amount of money you’re charging people for your food.
Bartender had an attitude and ONLY focused on the regulars that sat at the bar. Sorry I’m not a 65 year old regular ripping shots at 130pm on a Sunday. I mean I’m a good person, stop for a second and get to know your patrons and get them to come back. My money is green too.
This place service wise had no pulse. I’ve seen better service from a Waffle House and that’s not saying much.
Food: Tried the beef dipped. While the beef did taste fresh it still lacked flavor. Beef was too light for my liking which only tells me it gonna lack flavor. The au jus was a bit bland, not enough spices in there to really make that beef pop. The bread says it’s Gonnella, but I beg to differ. It was very dense and overwhelmingly thick. 80% of the sandwich was bread, that’s not how I remember beef back home. They gave me maybe 3oz of beef on this huge bun. Meat to bun ration is way off, and for $16 youz guys gotta be kidding me! This was a huge fail to me. The crinkle fries stole the show and those are your average run of the mill frozen crinkle fries from and food distributor.
Lastly, they charge you 3% for using a card. Like I get it, this was a thing during Covid! I was okay with it then, but definitely not now. When you’re charging me $16 for a thinly layered Italian beef with crinkle fries, I think you got your 3% from me in that cost.
Overall a fail to me. I heard the pizza was great but I’m not drink back 50 min to give that a shot, especially with the service there.
This is my review and my experience, you may have a different experience if you’re a different person ( read between the lines)

Read moreI wanted to like this place. Heck, I actually wanted to LOVE this place. There are so few Chicago style food places in the Atlanta suburbs. I miss good Chicago food. I saw the sign for Bobby G's tonight as I dropped my son off at a relative's house over in Milton. I decided to stop in and give it a try. I was so excited to try the food here! The greeters by the door were very pleasant and complimented me on my sweater. When asked, one of them provided some recommendations and also gave explanations about the pizza. I walked to the back to order takeout at 5:55 pm. The person at the take-out counter was polite and had a pleasant smile. She was obviously a new employee and struggled with my order, so it took a good bit. She apologized and called over another employee to help. Two more employees later (actually, I think the last one was Bob - perhaps the owner?), it was discovered that the internet was out. As they figured out what to do, I waited patiently. After all, no one can anticipate when this type of extenuating circumstance will happen. They printed out a receipt so they could complete the order and took my credit card information so that they could charge me later when the internet returned. I sat down to wait for my order. 45 minutes later, I'm still waiting. Someone notices I'm still waiting (it's the girl who took my order). She discreetly mentions something to one of the other employees who helped with the order. This employee asks for my name again, prints out another receipt, and checks with the kitchen. Guess what...my order had not been placed at all. Two apologies and another 15 minutes later, I finally got my food. Not the best experience in the world. As for the food - I ordered three hot dogs, an Italian beef, and a thin crust cheese pizza. The hot dogs were wonderful - true Chicago style and very tasty. The pizza was pretty good, although I prefer less sauce than what was on there. The crust was the wonderfully thin Chicago style crust and the pizza was tasty. The italian beef was decent. Will I give this place another try? Maybe. Maybe it was just a big fluke tonight. When I get over my hour-long wait for takeout, I might decide to try them again and give them...
Read moreThe reason for the 1 star isn't the food as it is authentic Chicago food and really good, however, it was the customer service of the owner Robert Gray "Bobby G." We had been customers for the past year and a half, as I'm a Chicago native, I introduced my fiance and my stepchildren to some authentic Chicago cuisine until we visit. Well upon receiving our drinks the waitress was picking up the menus and spilled water and I got wet all the way down to my shoes. She was very apologetic, while cleaning up the table she spilled water again getting water on my fiance's phone. She again apologized, we continued our dining. While waiting we showed her and the manager on duty the water damage notification on his phone. She again apologized and stated she will get the owners info to us. Once we got our meals, my stepson's didn't come out, my stepdaughter's food was wrong. We waited an additional 10 minutes and we then enjoyed our meal. Then as we paid the full bill, no discount, nothing taken off, Bobby G comes over and gave us a completely different story, was hostile and very combative. My fiance told him his story was wrong, he still was argumentative. I took over, and told him, what the issue was, he still had NOT apologized, stated we would need to give him the phone he would verify damage and then replace the phone.. It was the worst experience of customer service ever. We will NOT be back... here's what I want Mr. Gray to know and understand, we are an Educated upper middle class family and DO NOT NEED to LIE about anything, we can fully afford our PHONE, and We did NOT ask for a discount NOR ANYTHING FREE. However the water damage happened at his establishment and by his waitress. Her tip was low due to her lying stating to Bobby we wasted the water when we did not. Completely...
