I come here often because after a long day of seeing patients I sometimes just want some good ol’ comfort food. However it never fails for them to always take forever and I miss out on my lunch which by the way is an hour long. Or the food quality is not up to par. I ordered an Italian special with extra lettuce and receive the regular amount of lettuce. I also ordered a cup of chili that was colder than room temperature. I had asked for cheese to be added so I got charge extra for the additional cheese which I don’t mind. However, I would’ve never ordered the soup if I knew it would’ve been cold to the point where the cheese did not even melt one bit. I ended up throwing away the soup due to it being cold. I unfortunately still come here often due to it being so close to my job. And I continue to tell myself to be competent due to once working in the food industry. However at this point I am just kind of fed up with the excessive amount of time they take making the orders even when you order in the drive-through or ahead of time. They always have you waiting more than 20 minutes expect to wait at least 30 minutes in the drive-through if there’s one car ahead of you. I guess it’s time for me to just find a new sub place that’ll comply with their...
Read moreMy boss treated our department from subs here today. My sub was supposed to be a “steak cheesesteak” on parmesan asiago bread with the usual toppings, except American cheese was supposed to be substituted for provolone. My boss ordered it correctly, but the sub I received came with provolone instead of American cheese. It was not an outrageously large order as there are only five people in our department, so there is no excuse for this. Even though we’re right across the street, we’re nurses, so it’s not exactly easy to just go back and get it fixed. An incorrect order is a zero in my book, but the lowest I can go on here is a one star. Thanks for wrecking my hard-earned lunch. Cousins makes good subs, but don’t get them from this location. *10/31/22 Update: The owner Mark reached out to me and apologized for the incorrect order. I was provided with a credit for a replacement sub, which was correct this time. I'm amending the score from one star to four as this is above...
Read moreCousin's subs is one of my favorite sub shops in the area. This location needs a little attention, however. The restaurant is always REALLY smokey, like the vent system isn't working properly. It creates a haze in the store and leaves your clothes smelling like grease smoke.
Also, I visited today and noticed that the racks they keep the chips in are disgustingly FILTHY. I notified a worker quietly that they may want to clean their chip racks out because they are looking pretty gross. They said, "ok" and continued hanging out and talking with their fellow employees.
If I had a customer notify me that part of the restaurant was disgustingly dirty, I think I would immediately look to remedy the situation. Hopefully, this is looked into by management. A dirty and smokey restaurant isn't appealing to me, no matter how good the subs are. If some easy to clean things like chip racks arent wiped down, it makes me question if the more difficult things to clean are...
