Gallery Food Hall — Restaurant in Milwaukee

1st time here with some friends and unfortunately it wasn't a great expe9rience at all. So 1st this place is a bunch of restaurants put together which is super confusing .We walked inside to order and were told to go outside to scan a QR code to access the menu. So we did and not only was the menu somewhat difficult to navigate but after placing our order (with one order ahead of us) we were given a time to come back for our food. We came back about 10 minutes after the time we were given to make sure it would be ready. It wasn't, they said 10 more minutes so now its 20 minutes after the given time. Yes I asked for a drink (can of coke) for the extra wait...I was given an attitude by who I assume is the main cook but I got the drink and then we were made to wait almost an additional 30min before our orders were completed and given to us. To add the cherry on the top half the items on the menu weren't available, but they didn't tell us that and it doesn't mention that on the online menu, so when we do open our food and see those items replaced it was pretty disappointing. Overall its okay, nothing great. Food is a little lackluster, something you could put together yourself, and the service wasnt inviting and came off rude. I placed an order online to find out when I arrived for pickup that they were out of stock. That was fine as they pivoted to a similar dish substituting the out of stock item, however after I waited 20 minutes originally hoping I can pick up an go, I had to wait another 25 minutes to get a different order that again lack in flavor. I didn't get a chance to really checkout the art gallery inside so I cant...

The Gallery Food Hall is the exact kind of place I root for. The menu is eclectic, focused on comfort food, and the atmosphere is unassuming and unique.

Unfortunately, having been here twice now, I can say that the food consistently disappoints (especially given the prices), lacking flavor and discernable technique to elevate it above something you could throw together last minute at home. I wish them the best, but without a focused or otherwise technical component of any kind, I fear they may be left behind among the fierce competition offered...
