My hispanic people, this is where you can find the mole you have been craving. Spent around 20 bucks per dish and drink but the portions match the hefty price tag, you will leave fully satisfied and happy. Its a bar like atmosphere with latin music playing (think: corridos que tu papa escucha en su camino al trabajo, and paulina rubio). Staff is bilingual and very attentive to their regulars, bar seemed full. However, keep in mind it is very close quarters, can seat only about 5 families of 4 safely, whilst the solo visitors can be seated at the bar, only about 10 comfortably. So if you are afraid of covid, be mindful of the busier times. I ordered another mole entree to go for a friends birthday, and they found the meal to be a delight, considering its hard to find good hispanic/latin food in Milwaukee area.

I've had tacos everywhere you could imagine them being better than Milwaukee, WI; Mexico, Cali, Texas, and every time I have "Albert's" they maintain their title of "best tacos, rice and beans, period". But don't take it just from me! Albert's was walking distance from a previous job where I took a lot of out-of-towners during training session lunches; not one has it disappointed, but my favorite time was with a guy from Chicago who's mother is Mexican and makes traditional food. Naturally he was skeptical of a white guy's assessment, but even he left impressed. I've heard nothing but great things from their menu as a whole, but I can't bring myself to order anything but tacos (any, they're all amazing), rice, and beans.

My buddy and I had a good Mexican dinner at La Casa De Alberto, a popular neighborhood restaurant. A mixed crowd of Gringos and Mexicanos were enjoying themselves, and Casa de Alberto is never empty. Petra took good care of us, as I inundated her with too many questions. The kitchen at La Casa produces the typical Mexican food but at a high level. There are no surprises, but everything tastes good and seems fresh. The space is clean, comfortable, and the crowd was enjoying a Mexican soccer match on the TV, adding an authentic touch to our experience. There is a large bar that’s often difficult to find a seat. La Casa De Alberto is a good restaurant when you crave the familiar.

If you are Mexican, might consider dining somewhere else. Really nice place with a big bar, they had multiple TV screenings, very clean and service was immediate. Staff is bilingual and courteous. Someone was celebrating their birthday and they dimmed the lights and served them a complementary dessert with candles and HBD song.

We were welcomed with very warm tortilla chips, 3 different salsas. Their red salsa tasted like pure ground pepper which took a strong grip on your taste buds, their green salsa did not have a kick, and their pico de gallo was barely making it. When we finished looking through the menu, we got offered drinks, they did not have Horchata right out the gate.

We ordered the steak tacos which were delicious, although the sazon was slightly off from authentic traditional tacos and could have cooked the meat slightly longer. Did not order anything else.

If you live in the Upper East Side or Downtown Area and do not wish to make the trip into the South Side, this is the place for you!

Respectfully I...

Update (Oct. 2024) Took some friends, and while we mostly enjoyed the food, they said the same thing we've been saying for awhile - why is everything so wet? Simple ground beef tacos shouldn't soak through the tortilla.

Update (Feb. 2024) Food is still decent, and a good value, but whatever you do, STAY AWAY FROM THE BURRITO - twice now, I've ordered this entrée, both times, asking for them to either cook it longer, or do something so it's not so watery. Both times, the burrito disintegrated in my hands (what's left, looks like human vomit)

Original review (Oct. 2023) Had an early dinner with family (4 of us) Service was spot-on, with meals served quickly. Drink (especially the specials) were excellent (and relatively inexpensive). Food was tasty with plentiful quantities. Atmosphere is kinda plain, but clean and...
