I am only giving this one star as I am glad I did not have to pay a museum fee to be able to view the memorial Rivet.
I am not one to write bad reviews as I understand that everyone including businesses and their processes have difficulties and encounter obstacles from time to time. However, the process for purchasing the Harley Davidson Rivet as a memorial was absolutely unprofessional and a terrible experience.
My father passed away in 2022. He loved motorcycles, Harley-Davidson’s in particular so I felt that this was a special and meaningful way to honor his passing. Having his name and memory around something he loved so much.
I purchased a Rivet from Harley Davidson on March 17th 2024 (his birthday). The original explanation of the timeline on their website for a Rivet to be placed was 16 weeks after purchase. I waited the 16 weeks, in fact a few days beyond the 16 weeks. I did not receive any communication or mail notifying me of its placement. I sent an email and the response was, that in fact the 16 weeks was not from MY purchase it was from whenever the Lead Purchaser placed the order on her end! That would have been extremely good information to have! Along with the clarification that this person only places orders 3 times per year. The original communication about timeline placement after purchase was grossly misleading and completely unprofessional. They also do not offer refunds so I was completely at their mercy for whenever they decided they could get something that was paid for installed.
My Rivet was finally placed sometime around 5/4/2025. I was told that I would receive communication about its placement around then. I did not receive any communication about its placement until June 9th 2025–only after I sent a follow up email. The whole process from start to finish took not 16 weeks, not even 6-8 months but 15 months. That is over a year with emails back and forth and noncommittal times of placement. This was a terrible experience when trying to create a memorial for a loved one. I would not recommend buying a Rivet. They have updated their communication on their website but I would strongly encourage you to pause before making that purchase as they are unable to stick to their timelines and have no commitment to its customers when purchasing this memorial.
On a positive note the Rivets (3”) are located on walls that are located outside so you do not have to pay a museum entrance fee to visit the Rivets. That is a benefit for paying for this item ($375) and having such a terrible and unprofessional experience. I cannot emphasize enough the complete disappointment this process and experience was, especially for the price point and no refunds. I recommend finding another way to honor...
Read moreHow can I describe such an amazing experience I just had at this museum? I personally am a big fan of the brand and I had the chance to visit Milwaukee with my brother and parents, we arrived around 11am to the museum and the experience was amazing since the beginning, there’s parking space available (for both cars and motorbikes) so it wasn’t really a problem for us to find a spot. Then we proceeded to enter the museum but before crossing the door we realized there was an area with different motorcycle models that you can ride and see which one fits you the better (definitely my favorite is the sportster S 2024, it’s so ergonomic, the engine is outrageous and the color is beautiful) the staff is actually really really friendly and willing to explain any questions you asked. It is clearly an epic trip through history and you can experience it since you enter the second floor, there are stories and interactive exhibits that immerse you in the special hallmark of the brand, which is the love for two-wheeled vehicles and the amazing experience of riding a Harley Davidson.
They have an incredible and extensive collection of motorcycles that have contributed to the history of humanity since the twentieth century. Other thing I enjoyed a lot is that at night they have live concerts where you can listen to great music and socialize to other people who also loves Harley!
After the whole experience I had at the museum, we visited the restaurant where I had the best and tastiest steak & salad ever! They also have plenty of beer options so you can always try something new, after we got our nice brunch we went to both stores and they have incredible merch of course I got my classic Harley Davidson t-shirt and a jacket I will be using when I get my sportster. Since we visited on Saturday at the end of the whole tour we went for a riding experience, too bad I forgot my drivers license back home so I wasn’t able to ride any bike at this time but even so the staff was always so nice and friendly.
I definitely highly recommend to visit the museum if like me, you are in love with the two-wheeled vehicles and the brand; I will never ever forget the experience of visiting with my family and seeing their reactions with every thing they learned about motorcycles, hopefully one day I’ll convince my dad to get...
Read moreIf I could give this place 100 stars I would. Admittedly, I am a Harley Davidson fanboy. I love HD with a passion (I own 2). When I planned my trip to Sturgis in 2023, I was looking at the map and thought "If I'm riding back, why don't I just detour and go to the museum? When will I have this chance again?". So I did.
The weather was miserable and of course it would be raining when I'm on the bike right? I parked my loaded bike under the overhead walkway and went inside. I am a lifetime HOG member so there wasn't much for me to do with admission. After signing in I was pointed to LOCKERS!!!! I could strip off my wet gear and change out of my wet boots into sneakers. Now I arrived there at 10:30 in the morning and hoped that I could be there for a few hours and the rain would stop.
I was so excited, giddy with the thought of being there. Walking up the wide stairs to the start of the museum was loaded with anticipation as I came to some small HOG displays. Then, I entered where the motorcycles were, from the very first year they were on display, side by side. Tears welled up in my eyes. I don't know why this was so emotional for me but I was completely and utterly captivated by every single thing in that place. I took it all in, inch by inch, I read nearly everything. I couldn't contain myself. My excitement was nearly drowned out by the pounding of the rain on the roof. I took some time to have some lunch at the bar/restaurant across from the entrance to the museum and the food was so freaking good.
It was now nearing 5 p.m., and the museum was getting ready to close. I had been there for 6 hours!! And I still didn't see everything on site because of the rain.
I left there, soaking wet and melancholy. I didn't want to leave, I didn't want the visit to be over. It's been two years since I've been there and I want to go back, I think a road trip...
