MOR Bakehouse MKE — Restaurant in Milwaukee

I've been here a few times and have really enjoyed it. There is always a very large variety of baked goods--several types of cookie, quick breads, biscotti, tarts, bars, muffins, and other treats. Everything is gluten free, and it seems that the bakers also use locally sourced and organic ingredients when possible. I've enjoyed almost everything I've tasted, including lemon bars, plum tarts, pineapple mini-bundt cake, brownies, breakfast (sausage, egg, etc.) muffins, and more. And honestly, most of what I've had hasn't been merely "good for gluten-free," but truly good by general bakery benchmarks. The coffee service is good--they don't have standard decaf, but will do pour-overs or specialty coffee drinks using decaf. There is plenty of parking, and the space itself is expansive and airy. It isn't a very "cozy" place--the interior has an angular and industrial-warehouse feel to it--but there is wifi, and it's a good place to hang out. The service has always been friendly and helpful, though when they get rushed, the pace can be a bit slow. The only real drawback for me, though, is that it's hard to tell which items (if any) are on the low-carb side. I've had many delicious things at Mor, and most of those things have been sweet (and probably not good for my blood sugar), so I don't go as often as I'd like. I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this wonderful place sooner. Also, they’re now in Cedarburg not Milwaukee. So firstly, the Pecan Pie that I ordered for Thanksgiving was so decadent & delicious, I could’ve eaten the entire pie to myself! The frozen cinnamon rolls were so tasty as well. I previously had tried the Italian beef calzone & the pepperoni calzone. The Italian beef one was pretty yummy! The pepperoni was lacking overall flavor and didn’t have enough pepperoni (in my opinion). The calzones I tried were from a while ago though so I’m hoping the couple that I’ve ordered this time around will not disappoint! What a wonderful bakery owned by wonderful people! I wanted to surprise my sister with some treats for her birthday but living in FL made that a little challenging (I thought). After calling around the MKE area, I found MOR bakery and it was right near her home! Not only are their goodies exceptionally good, they are very conscious of the wholeness of the ingredients. Tracy was so knowledgeable and made it so easy to order and pay online and Don delivered the treats with what I am told was a big smile and "Happy Birthday!"
