We made reservations to be sure we would have no issues considering it was Valentine's Day weekend. They seemed to have room but we had a bigger group and reservations were a good idea. There were a few other good sized groups that came in also... The food and beverages were very good. They had great options including selections for vegetarians. There were no complaints about the food from anyone in our party. The only issue that we really had was that our waiter might have been over booked. He was knowledgeable and very friendly but did not get back to us as much as he should have. We even had to reach out to one of the Hostesses to get our check taken care of. I am not positive why he didn't get back to us, so I am guessing he might have needed assistance. I wasn't thrilled about a tip being included just because we had 6 people considering the lack of service we received. I think the look of this place and the quality of the food is worth a stop and I wouldn't be against returning here. Maybe going on a popular "dining out" weekend should be considered. One of our party had been here before and did have good things to say about those visits. I would recommend The Knick if you are looking for a stop for good food. I also loved the glass sculptures and the rest of the decor!

I would absolutely NEVER return here! We had the unprofessional waitress Vera K. She was rude and short with us to begin with but I didn’t want to complain. We got our bill and noticed a 20% large group charge added onto our bill. I was confused because it was just my sister and I dining in. I asked the waitress, Vera, about it and she said that “she has the discretion to decide if she wants to add a 20% large group gratuity charge onto peoples bills or not.” At this point I was furious. I told her to go get the manager and she did. The manager came to our table and I explained to her how unprofessional and unethical this was. The waitress profiled my sister and I based off of the fact that we’re in our 20’s and minorities. She was scared that we weren’t going to tip her, so she decided to take matters into her own hands. What she forgot to look at was the $4000 purse that I was carrying. I live in Miami, Florida and am only in Milwaukee for a wedding. I am always very generous with tipping waitstaff and always tip over 20%. This is the first time in my entire life that I left a restaurant without tipping a server and she didn’t deserve a single penny of our money! She should be fired! She screwed herself in the end!

I went here with my father on 11/18/24 from around 4-5:30pm. The atmosphere was laidback, cozy and eclectic with warm lighting (the light fixtures were made from blown glass), homey seating and laughter from other guests. The service was good overall, a little slow for it not being super busy, but overall good. We started off with drinks, I got an iced chai latter and my father an ipa, they were disappointing, the ipa was sour and the chai watered down. The appetizers made up for it, we got the happy tots which were warm and crispy and Cuban sliders which were flavorful and juicy, each item was only $6. Then we ordered sandwiches for our main course, I ordered the truffle burger and my father ordered the roasted turkey & avocado sandwich. The burger was AMAZING, genuinely one of the best burgers I’ve had in a while. The sandwich was also delicious and filling. What was not delicious, however, was the cocktail and Diet Coke we ordered. The cocktail reportedly tasted like pine sole and my Diet Coke was completely flat. Overall service was great, atmosphere was cozy and food was amazing (just don’t come here for the drinks) we will definitely be back!

This place used to be a favorite of ours, until today Dec 5th 2021. My family and I ordered To-go pick up thru eat street on google. We stood near the hostess podium for 10 minutes until we finally stopped a worker who was about to pass us again. I told her we were here to pick up and online ordered and she says “you can pick up and the bar” the bar tender had no clue where my order was. Then I stopped another worker and I showed him the receipt on my phone and he say “oh yes I have that” 2 mins later he brings out my bag and I asked is everything in the bag that’s on my receipt? He says yes . When we got back home I relished it wasn’t. I was missing a whole meal and a side. I called true restaurant and was told to bring everything back. Are you serious??? I told her my family was waiting to eat And we live in Franklin and for me to bring back that food it would be cold. I also asked would she remake the whole order she then said no. We also realize that not one order of bread was added to all meals. And we ordered five meals. My suggestion if you’re going to eat from this please check your food before leaving.

We had a wonderful brunch experience dining at the Knick! We decided to make reservations on the open table app which was helpful. There was covered outdoor seating which was nice. The host was very friendly and was doing a great job training a new employee. Our server Christian was very friendly as well and was very patient with us while we My sister and I couldn’t choose between a few entrees so we decided to order and split 3 entrees. We ended up getting the French toast, the quiche and the chicken and waffles. The French toast was very good and was a very generous portion. It didn’t have a heavy drenched egg flavor, it was light and fluffy. The quiche was great, it was very rich and the crush was flaky and buttery. The chicken and waffles was delicious. I liked that the chicken was in smaller pieces so you’re not having to cut your chicken. I would’ve liked if the waffle was a bit bigger, it was a little too small for a entree. Overall, it was a great experience dining at the Knick. I can’t wait to go back and try more of their entrees.

The lack of management in the past two years has slowly become obvious. The clientele, music, & vibe has changed as a result. Last night we could hardly pay our bill fast enough as a fight broke out in the bar area. As the Kinck is always consistent and delicious and have never had a bad meal or service in the 20 plus years of dining there I will not be back nor can I any longer recommend safely eating there. I could say more about things I have observed over the past few years of dining at the Knick that has made me uncomfortable but I will leave that alone. So disappointing 🤦🏻♀️ The constant churn has negatively impacted the restaurant as well. The high turnover has lead to inefficiency, as onboarding and training of new employees is lacking. We supported you all throughout the pandemic and continued to tip above and beyond to support you and your staff. I’m disappointed because I feel management is tired and has given up.
