My wife, son and I went downtown for brunch on Sunday. The first 3 restaurants we had significant waits, so we went to Brunch which only had a 20m wait. They sat us on the second floor, which my wife likened to a high school lunchroom cafeteria ambiance: brightly artificially lit, noisy with older cheap tables and chairs. The floor dirty and silverware flimsy, to the point of flexing when you used them. The waitress mentioned she'd be with us in a minute after we sat down, but it was quite awhile before she came over to offer us drinks. When she did finally stop by, we had plenty of time with the menu and we were ready to order. Smoothies were on the menu, but they were no longer offering them. It took awhile to get our drinks -- coffee was lukewarm at best. My wife and I didn't find it good tasting coffee regardless of temperature, so we didn't ask for fresh coffee. Then we waited and waited . . . it took almost an hour from sitting down to finally getting our food. Our waitress did stop by after some time to let us know of some accident in the kitchen that delayed our food and mentioned the manager would compensate us. When the food did come out, my power bowl dish looked very sad. The avocado slices looked rotten, turkey sausage patties blackened and the eggs tough. The breakfast potatoes on the other hand were soggy. The waitress mentioned afterwards that my dish was under a heat lamp for awhile while waiting on my wife's and sons dishes. I finished less than half of it, avoiding gross looking avocado slices, mostly cause I was pretty hungry and hate wasting food. My wife and son said their dishes were so-so. The waitress apologized profusely and recognized the bad experience. They gave us a 25 percent discount (we didn't ask for any compensation), but what is appropriate compensation for food and an overall experience that someone would need to pay ME to consider? I won't return. There are too many good brunch places in the area to give them another chance. I'd have preferred McDonald's breakfast, better food, much quicker and I know the coffee...

Read moreI usually do not leave reviews like this, but our experience at this restaurant was extremely terrible. We were sat after a 20 minute wait (which is totally fine), then treated with an extremely quiet server. All 7 of us ordered a mimosa, and waited probably 10-15 minutes for our mimosas (knowing that it should not take that long to make 7 mimosas). Then finally put our food order in with our server, we waited 48 minutes for our food to arrive. We have time records of when we placed our food to when it came out. Also, the cook came out into the restaurant and said “did y’all get your food yet?” Which left us all extremely confused. When the food finally came out, all of the pancakes were cold, my friends “BLT” was pathetic, and the lettuce looked actually inedible. We all took a few bites and decided that most of our food was subpar, if that. We asked to speak to a manager. I manage a bar downtown Milwaukee myself, and I tried to be completely honest and kind with our complaints but it was just that bad. The “manager” that spoke with us seemed to want to listen to our complaints, but threw a sassy comment at us by saying “your clocks must run differently than ours” she claimed our food only took 30 minutes. Which again, even a 30 minute ticket time with a nearly empty restaurant is a little absurd. After going back and fourth with her for a few minutes, she then asked what WE wanted her to do, which puts us as paying costumers in a genuinely uncomfortable situation. As a manager, I speak to tables and offer discounts or drinks before asking them what THEY want ME to do for them. Anyways, they gave us a 25% discount, and after watching the entire staff gossip about our table we just wanted to get out of there. We still tipped our server 20% because it clearly was not her fault. 0/10 would not recommend this...
