If I could give zero stars instead of one I would. A few weeks ago I met my partner here to do some work in the morning and I had the barista come up to me while they were cleaning the table next to ours (having being sat down for maybe 10 min at that point) and they passively agressively asked, "can I get anything for you?" with a huge smile on their face as if they were wait staff at a restaurant. Slightly confused, I said, "no, I'm fine," and they responded with, "well if you're gonna stay here, then you need to get something." Unfortunately, I was too shocked and stunned in the moment by the confrontation that I didn't register that I should've just walked out of the coffee shop in that moment. It's sad to see a local business (that I loved !) be so money hungry and anti-third space...aka NOT for the community. I fully understand supporting local businesses but might I add that my partner got something and I've been to plenty of places (in and out of the state) where it's usually fine when someone you're with gets something and you don't (especially if you don't actually want anything)...on top of the fact that I would come to this coffee shop at other times and actually buy stuff. ANYWAYS this was a very bad and disheartening experience I had at bob's java hut and I will not be coming here ever again. **I usually do not waste my time writing reviews but I wanted to share my experience because I also wanted to add that I PERSONALLY DID NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE OR WELCOMED AS A PERSON OF COLOR being confronted by a middle aged white woman acting passive aggressive - I would've hoped working in the service industry would've taught this individual some people skills but it's clear that there's some room for growth...save yourself the trip and walk down the street to Caffetto instead where you'll actually find a...
Read moreI arrived at the place at 11:00 as I normally do when I go there. The place is great & has a wonderful atmosphere as well as an interesting group of characters that hang out there. Everyone has always been nice. Until today. I pulled out a bottled tea to take some prescription pills & before I could open it the owner came over & informed me I couldn't bring drinks into her establishment & asked me what I wanted to drink. I said I wasn't sure. I grabbed my money & went to the counter & asked the girl if I needed to buy something to stay in there & she said yes. That was my cue to leave because I could not take the smell of rudeness that was overwhelming the coffee. I hope the owner doesn't fail but someone could sure teach her some manners. Remember to never judge, the person in front of you might have enough millions to open up a coffee shop...
Read moreI was across the street at the bakery eating breakfast. The coffee was average. As I was leaving I noticed this place and entered the building and took my place in line. I watched the one employee look for a ketchup bottle filled with chocolate sauce and began to painfully squeezed the sauce out of the container. All I wanted was a cup of coffee. All coffee is stored in an air pot which is always a big red flag to me if I want the best coffee in the world. I realized that the wait would be 10 to 15 minutes and I left. If you're going to serve frufee coffee at least have some consideration for those who only want coffee. For example, have the coffee airpot accessible to customers so they can begin enjoying their coffee while they wait in line to pay. I'm sorry I didn't get the opportunity to...
