I go to this location often and to other locations where they have the nice mini sandwiches. Out of all the coffee shops, Caribou is particularly attractive because it has a fireplace and easy chairs where one can sit, sip a tea, munch on a great small breakfast sandwich and peacefully read. As a retired person I work at home and a trip to a Caribou most days gives me an excuse to get out of the house for a while. At the same time, I like snacks and drinks but want low sugar, low fat healthy things. Caribou's two mini sandwiches are perfect. The spinach mini has only 170 calories and is low on fat and salt but big on flavor so it is filling. I would encourage their adding more small healthy non sugar foods to their menu. No one else has them.
The lunch sandwiches need some work with flavors. The turkey brie has a sweet sauce on it that clashes with the french bread and the ham sandwich is dry. The croissants are good but if you are avoiding fat then they are not for you or me. The banana bread is great. The pastries are tasty but I also find them much too sweet. Diets are changing and the Mini's are a first step toward the new low sugar, low fat, and low salt goal. And they are a real winner so I encourage expanding the menu along this line.
This Caribou is very comfortable with the long upholstered bench along the wall. The easy chairs are very nice. Because it is long and narrow, the location is not perfect for meetings. It could also use a bit more vacuuming and swabbing the floor although the tables and counters are clean.
I do have a problem with the crafted drinks which are all much much too sweet with no way to control that. Unfortunately, that is all the coffee shops and I just avoid those drinks totally because I prefer to add my own sugar. Even when they reduce the chocolate by half the hot chocolate is too sweet for me so I gave it up.
I noticed that occasionally customers comment on the staff but it is the menu, ambience and location that seem most important and this Caribou is one...
Read moreSuper passive aggressive employees/service. Been here a couple of times now, I will place my order at the register and then something gets lost in between the register and who prepares the drink. The person that prepares the drink didn’t hear the order themselves and makes it incorrectly and then the person behind the counter who gives me my drink is highly upset at me for getting the order wrong. You don’t have to say one word to show your anger. I wasn’t alone either, the person with me could pick you up on this very loud and very rude energy as well. Won’t bother returning to this location, don’t love your job? Cool. Find something else to do. Not working with people to take your...
Read moreSuper cute branch of Caribou Coffee conveniently located next to the lake and Whole Foods. I’ve been coming here since high school! Service is always great as are the seasonal crafted presses. Extra points for the cozy fireplace, which is so nice for cold weather coffee breaks (like today’s 25 degree F weather). There’s a huge range of seating (tables, high tops, armchairs, and half-booths) with readily available outlets at almost every seat. Bathrooms are available only for customers and do require a code. Everyone was happy and smiling in here today on Thanksgiving - thanks...
