I have to say that I can not go back to this nail salon. I had been going there previously when it was owned by a different person/persons and all was very good and well then. The salon was bought back by Michael and his sister who now work there with Michaels wife. I was having great luck with my manicures and pedicures using gel polish. I worked with michael mostly and one time with his sister. His wife seemed to perform fewer manicures and I did observe her giving pedicures although more than once I witness Michael assist her or advise her. I had made a note in my head that I was not confident with his wife's abilities. Well my suspicions were proven to be correct. The last time I went there on Jan 30th I had a pedicure and manicure, I got his wife. The pedicure was okay, she filed my toes more than normal when taking the gel polish off. When it came time for the manicure, I have always asked not to have much filing done because I think that it makes the nail weaker. This time was awful, i kept asking his wife to stop filing the tops of my nails, i informed her she was going too thin and sure enough you can see the pink skin under my nail bed. The nails were tearing as she was working on them, i have never had weak nails or nails that split. Michaels wife ruined my natural nails. They hurt and the nail bends like it is tissue paper, it also tears off. I have debated going in to show them how she truly damage my nails all ten of them. I had another place take off the gel and it was so painful, i waited two weeks before doing that. The other salon said that who ever did this to my nails should never perform another manicure. What bummed me out the most was that Michael and his sister could hear me asking his wife to stop filing the top of my nail, they did not stop to take a look at what she was doing. It did not matter she used gel, the nails are so thin that they still ripped and tore off. I have very short nails now and the whole bed hurts because the nail is thin and can not protect the skin underneath. I will never step back in there and they also charged me 80 dollars for a basic manicure and pedicure. I would watch Michael assist his wife and explain in their language what she needed to do with other clients but with me it was like they wanted her to ruin my nails, he has always been so kind to me when I came in but this time the salon made a mistake by allowing his wife to perform manicures. Oh and one time I had to cancel an appointment for me and my daughter, we tipped them 60 dollars because of the cancel, it was her wedding and the bridal party or a few of them had to change to a different day, I feel i compensated the salon for the change. It does not pay to be appreciative with GD nails and the owners. If I could, I would give zero stars but the site needs at least...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI decided to give this place a shot one day because it happens to be conveniently located right by my apartment, but regretted it before I even left. I went in for a pedicure and definitely did not get my moneys worth. The "spa" pedicure chairs did not appear to be clean, there were lots of tears in the fabric and the tubs definitely did not appear to be sterilized. There was not an autoclave in sight, so I seriously doubt they sterilize their tools. I got a french pedi and the white lines were crooked on some of my nails, and the jewels I had added to each big toe fell off within a day. The whole time I was in there the employees were just conversing amongst themselves in their native tongue, which I have always found to be exceptionally rude. Plus, when I paid with my Visa they charged me an extra 10% to cover their merchant fee without even telling m e that would happen. Needless to say, I will never go...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI wouldn't recommend this shop to no one. My first time going, The first red flag was the underwhelming greeting that I got, plus I was the only one there. When I sat down I explain to the guy that I had callouses nothing extreme. After he examined my feet he quotes $50.00. He preceded to soak my feet, clip my to nails and scrape the bottom of my feet. I didn't get no exfoliate towel wrap, or anything else included in the 50.00 package, it was a very basic pedicure. After he was done and I was ready to pay the price went from 50.00 to 60.00 I then ask why and he said that he had to rub something on my feet I guess to soften up the callouses. I just paid and left. With that being said I have been getting pedicure for years and never paid over 45.00 even with the callouses. Don't waste your time or money with these...
