2 Guys and a Pie EPISODE 6: Punch Pizza in #minneapolis , #mn #pizza #review #punchpizza
Geoffrey SerdarGeoffrey Serdar
Punch Pizza on West Lake Street has been a beloved part of my life for years. Nestled close to Lake Bde Maka Ska (formerly Lake Calhoun), this location holds a special place in my heart, especially now that I get to share it with my three-and-a-half-year-old daughter, Benedetta. There's something truly special about visiting a place you've loved for years and now experiencing it through the eyes of your child. Every time we visit, I proudly bring Benedetta in, say hello to the friendly staff, and order our usual pizzas. For me, it's always the Puttanesca—anchovies, onions, capers, and kalamata olives. I can't resist it, no matter how many times I've had it. My wife, Sabrina, is loyal to the Toscano, which features sausage and roasted red pepper. While I still think my Puttanesca is superior, Sabrina always enjoys her Toscano. Benedetta, however, surprised us with her choice of the Quattro Formaggi, which we had made with ham instead of prosciutto. To my surprise, her pizza was the best of all. Maybe it's because Sabrina and I always stick to our favorites, but Benedetta's Quattro Formaggi was a delightful change of pace. Watching her use a fork and knife to cut her own slice, and then offering me a bite, was one of the cutest and most heartwarming moments I've had. Next time, I plan to add onions to her pizza, just to see how it enhances the already amazing flavor. The staff at Punch Pizza is always exceptional. Whether it's the team expertly crafting pizzas and working the oven or the friendly cashier—Aiden, on this visit—everyone is consistently smiling and ensuring a wonderful experience. The interior, with its light and welcoming colors, is always spotless, adding to the overall charm of the place. Having visited Europe many times, including Italy, I can confidently say that Punch Pizza brings a taste of authentic European pizza right here to Minnesota. It's incredible to have such a high-quality pizza spot in our community, and I'm grateful for it. From the owner to the management, to everyone who chooses the top-notch ingredients and ensures each pizza is perfect, I want to express my deepest thanks. Punch Pizza has been a consistent part of my life ever since my first visit to the Highland location, and I look forward to many more delicious meals here. Simply put, there is no better place to get pizza in all of Minnesota. Punch Pizza will always have my highest recommendation. A very Happy Pizza Eater of yours for years, Geoffrey Serdar

I invited a friend of mine to go and eat at punch pizza, he drove us there from northfield, only to realize when we returned home that my keys fell out of my pocket in front of punch pizza, so I called and spoke to the manager AJ and explained my problem and asked if he could do me a huge favor and check the first punch parking spot in the front- he was extremely rude and said no- I asked if maybe someone could check later and he kept saying we are busy so no- I have to say that minnesota nice he wasnt- I even promised a large tip but that didn't matter to him either- thankfully the business next door was more than happy to go outside and check for me- It would have been different if I lived in uptown but I live in northfield, sometimes customer service extends beyond serving people inside, very disappointed in the manager AJS response to a...

I was a regular purchaser of Punch Pizza. I decided it has been too long since I enjoyed one! I usually enjoy in the restaurant, but I took this one out and home to enjoy. I am sadly disappointed that the pizza I received was poorly made. The crust was too thin and all ingredients slid off as I ate it due to a very thin crust. It seems there wasn't enough cheese to hold everything in place. The crust was limp and seemingly not cooked enough on the bottom, although it tasted alright. I probably won't make it back there anytime soon for a limp pizza with all the ingredients sliding off. Too bad, it seems the quality has slipped or maybe they were just to busy to cook it appropriately. I won't hurry back with other choices I have better luck with, especially for the prices...
