Let me preface this by saying I've never written a bad review EVER but I visited La La last night and was so taken back by the rude customer service we received. I live super close by and was so excited to try this place with my sister because they had a good amount of vegan flavors available, which can be hard to come by. As soon as we walked in, I could tell the woman behind the counter wasn't going to be friendly. My sister asked very politely if she could sample a few flavors (they have some unique flavors so this can't be an uncommon request). The woman replied with something like "uhhhh two is fine" making it clear she was annoyed with the request, which seemed odd as we were the only customers there at the time, we weren't holding up a line. She then rudely rushed us through the rest of our transaction, I felt so unwelcome I just ordered the first ice cream flavor I looked at. The ice cream itself was good, but there are plenty of good ice cream places around that won't treat you like a burden from the moment you walk in. I suggest this woman works on her people skills, or no longer deals face-to-face with customers as I can't imagine who would want to return after this experience. Based on other reviews, it seems like this is a...

We’re sorry if our group made “ugly” noises . That was definitely unkind of us. We talked about it and don’t remember doing it, but if you felt that way we are sorry! What we are not sorry about however is the rest of the interactions. We were 5 of us and it takes time for 5 people to taste and decide on ice cream. We were paying customers and tried not to waste your time but it still takes time . There was ONE person serving. If you want others to not wait, please have more staff working on a Saturday night! Also we try to stop after sampling 2 ice creams, but sometimes we don’t like either and want to give our business to the store so try another one, which has happened before but never has been met with such rudeness!. If there’s a limit to how many we can sample, please make a note of it so the customers know. This wasn’t the first ice cream store we visited in our life, but very rarely do we get treated this way! No thanks!
The ice cream was nothing to write home about, but the service was not good! The lady with the glasses was damn right rude, made me not want to give her my business. Will you be going back! Lady please be a little “sweet” and...
Read moreVery classy place and quire appropriate for the neighborhood it is at. The atmosphere is pleasant and elegant. Very clean place. The flavors are intriguing, I got sweet basil vanilla and marzipan, my companion got ruharb and something else.. $23 dollars.
Once upon a time I managed a Ben & Jerry's in the Marina district in San Francisco. In my humble opinion, stingy serving size. As I saw the lady getting each scoop of ice cream I thought.. Oh wow she must be joking... But she was not.
I think this place could be considered uptown? Maybe it is like LA where you want to go out and drop lots of cash that you just have to spend, but yet you don't want to ingest lots of calories. So what's better than a place that sells you overthetop expensive small servings of ice cream? I know that's a thing. If that's your thing, go here!
As for me, I will keep trying other places until I find one that fits my budget and my palate.
This is a description of my experience. Still get five stars because it does deserve it. Just not a...
