Itās been a long time since Iāve been to uptown so I was excited to be on a date with my partner exploring. Happen to come across this very cute cafe which really I donāt drink a lot of coffee and neither does my partner, but we were heading to the car and I wanted to grab a quick soda. My lovely partner asked for a cold coffee with caramel. So often when Iām not sure what to order or know she doesnāt either. I inquire suggestions from my barista, server, chef, etc because who knows better. I also approached my server with friendliness, I am at fault for the fact that I can be a very anxious shopper. My server was more than irritated with me for even thinking I should be asking her any questions and should just know what I want. Iāve never actually had a person in the customer service industry be so obviously condescending to me , even to telling me sheās not a mind reader. Then I look to the different colored cans that I thought were sodas, for myself, and asked what they were since EVERY single one was turned the other direction in glass so I could not see any sort of label. Nor a sign with options, I definitely looked so not to receive the wrath of my server. Her response : āteaā Iām perplexed am I out of line for asking??? Maybe I have it all wrong and sheās believes everyone has super powers except her. Me: what kind? Flavors?
And so this goes on. By the end of this I order nothing at all. Waste my time.
In my mind I felt like I did something horrible to offend this person, itās been a long time since I even allowed myself to think it may have been color of my skin since everyone else the place had taken there order with her and seemed happy. But I think Iād rather believe sheās just rude to anyone that comes in that queries.
But in the end I thank her for bringing me and Gabby together next door at the Moona Moono who was more than helpful guiding me with best recommendations on boba tea Iāve never had before. If it wasnāt for this poor experience I would never had received the experience I had just next door. I even got the Boone of my partner finding āthe best coffeeā sheās ever had. (Maple latte)
I donāt think miserable people should be order taking. Especially when often time their...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreStopped by Mosaic Coffee and tried three of their staples, Golden Hour, Alarm Clock, and Kadence.
Alarm Clock is worth the order. The bright acidity of the espresso balances the fresh orange juice, and a hint of clove on the finish ties everything together without feeling gimmicky.
Golden Hour and Kadence hit their marks as approachable, crowdāpleasing drinks. They skew slightly sweet for my taste, but theyāre well executed and deliver exactly what the menu promises.
The barista was genuinely engaged, even encouraging me to sample multiple drinks. When you see espresso with orange juice, you have to try itāglad I did.
On the pastry front, the glutenāfree options from Hold The Wheat deserve a mention. Theyāre the best Iāve encountered, and my wife agrees.
Despite a steady stream of customers, the team stayed attentive and took time to explain their offerings. With a clean, modern aesthetic and thoughtful service, Mosaic Coffee strikes a good balance between creativity and consistency....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhat a positively lovely space and place to get a delicious coffee š Biking over on a sunny Sunday morning in November, my first visit here left a dazzling impression. The baristas were very warmly welcoming and friendly. The atmosphere was buzzing! Laughter, conversation. It was on the louder side on a Sunday morning so keep that in mind if youāre looking for someplace more subdued. There was a bit of a line but it moved quick. I got a light roast, black, and it was super savory if you can call it thatāvery drinkable, smooth, round with a ever-so-slight lean into the sourness of acidity, which I like. I wonder if it was their own brand of bean, which they carry. Overall, energizing vibes with the warm-colored walls, dark green mosaic tile, and vibrant Uptown clientele. I canāt wait to be back to try more of the menu and absorb the vibes here, whether itās while working, meeting a friend, or just hanging out. Iām so glad to have them here in Uptown. Thank you Mosaic! Iām gonna be biking...
