The remix bowl with falafel was a home run but the service striked out. I typically wouldn't discredit a restaurant experience if the food was good, but it was hard not to notice the service others were receiving. Let's start with the food. This falafel bowl ranked high in terms of quality, freshness, and flavors. The falafel was soft and warm on the inside and had a nice crunchy exterior. The olives added a nice bite and worked well when you wanted to change up the flavors. You get the sweetness from the corn and some earthy notes from the garbanzo beans. The green sauce was outstanding, and I covered the whole bowl in it. The red sauce had some spice to it, but it still mingled well if used sparingly. I would consider coming back just for this bowl. It doesn't look like much food but it was actually quite filling. Now for the service. I got the impression the bartender didn't really care about his job when I stopped in, but maybe it was just an off day. Therefore, I wouldn't hold this against him. However, this attitude changed when he was taking food orders from multiple different women. For example, I didn't know where the silverware was when my food was served or how beverages worked since I was never asked if I wanted anything to drink. The patron next to me told me where the silverware was, and I overheard one of the women he was taking an order from tell her they had a water station. I just found it so odd that even though I sat at the bar, I was never even offered a drink. From a business standpoint, I just couldn't put two and two together. I know the owner would probably think the same thing as well like why wouldn't my bartender do the bare minimum for the top line. It wasn't super busy so I couldn't chalk it up to that either. Anyways, the whole experience and vibe felt like here's your food, eat it, and get out. I liked the decor of the restaurant, and I would consider coming back and trying more of the menu but wouldn't expect much from the service side of things.

I love Spitz! Great atmosphere with interesting murals and records everywhere. Music and lighting just add to the scene and make it such a fun experience! Food is always great. I get the street art wrap with lamb doner. Like a glorified gyro :). I love it. Fries are crunchy perfection and the garlic aioli sauce.. *chefs kiss*. Employees are friendly and helpful. They have games and a shuffleboard table to keep it fun while you're waiting for your food. This place never disappoints.

I had the Döner Basket. It was tasty but nothing like real Turkish Döner, it was only American style gyro meat, nothing else, so I was disappointed right off the bat because I love real Döner. Don't call it a Döner when it's not! It was also very french fries heavy. The dish was more than half filled with french fries and less than half was salad and meat (the falafel ball was missing too). I wish they'd adjust the ratio a little to maybe 1/3 fries, 1/3 meat and 1/3 salad, especially for $14 plus tax. The other thing that bothered me was that it was very hard to eat because it was piled into this baking pan and stuff kept falling out while I was trying to eat it. Overall not something I would get again but I'd be willing to come back and try the Street Greek Gyro. My wife had the Berliner Bowl with the Chicken Shawarma. I really didn't like the taste of it and it was cold, I like warm dishes. The chicken was a little on the scarce side and the pickled onions were too spicy for my wife. She said she liked the whole thing but she also said that she would not order it again. We both would like to come back and try a wrap and the sweet potato fries.

Title: A Hidden Gem: Spitz Restaurant Review

There are places that catch your eye immediately from the outside, and then there are establishments like Spitz restaurant in Minneapolis – an unassuming haven of culinary delight that doesn’t reveal its charm until you step inside. Awarding a well-deserved five out of five stars, here's our take on the experience.

From the outside, one might pass Spitz without a second glance, but once inside, it's a different story. The place buzzes with a lively energy, its popularity evident in the steady flow of patrons. The ambiance is inviting, perfectly complementing the array of food and drinks on offer.

The first standout feature of Spitz is its remarkable selection of local beers. It's heartening to see such a celebration of local produce, a testament to the thriving beer scene of Minneapolis. This variety ensures there's something for every beer aficionado, adding a local touch to the Mediterranean cuisine.

Speaking of cuisine, Spitz truly excels in delivering an authentic Mediterranean experience. We came in search of gyros and other Mediterranean dishes, and we were not disappointed. The menu ticked all our boxes, offering a variety of flavorsome dishes that left us thoroughly satisfied. The food was prepared to perfection, a harmonious balance of taste without being overly salty or greasy.

Portion sizes were spot-on, leaving us comfortably full without the unpleasant heaviness that often follows an overly oily meal. Each dish was clearly prepared with care and attention to detail, an indication of the restaurant's commitment to quality.

While the table cleaning service could use a slight boost, given the number of patrons, it did little to dampen our overall experience. The superior food and drink selection, coupled with the lively atmosphere, far outweighed this minor inconvenience.

In conclusion, Spitz is a hidden gem that warrants repeat visits. We were left impressed with their gastronomic offerings, refreshing beverages, and the overall dining experience. Despite the busy nature of the restaurant, they've managed to maintain an impressive quality of service, making them a must-visit when in Minneapolis. It's a definite five-star from us, and we're already looking forward to...

First off, I must say that ordering online is the easiest thing! I love being able to see what all the various dishes look like (because we tend to first eat with our eyes) and the prices are all very fair for the portion sizes. I and my boyfriend ordered food for pick-up. I got the Mediterranean Doner and he got the Berliner Bowl with Falafel. The smell emanating from the paper bag on our way home was heaven (you'd want candles made with this scent, trust me)! When we opened the bag and pulled out eco-friendly to-go containers which housed a beautifully decadent presentation of our food. Our first bites sent our taste buds to cloud 9 and beyond! The Mediterranean Doner was a very delicious not-to-crispy pita shell and the most fresh tasting ingredients (see Spitz menu online for in-depth ingredient info) I have had in a long time. I also had a few (ok, many) bites of the Berliner Bowl my boyfriend ordered, and let me tell you something, that mesh of dill quinoa, Berlin slaw, and berliner red sauce (among the other fresh and delicious ingredients used) with 3 perfectly crisp Falafel (insert drooling emoji) absolutely makes the entire eating experience 5 STARS! Well done, Spitz :) major props to the chef and entire kitchen staff for making such wonderfully delicious and...
