Went here for mothersday yesterday, highly looking forward to it as my husband really raved about the tacos he tried from their food truck. Not sure if it was a slow day or too busy. Spent 75 bucks for 2 adults and 2 kiddos. No big meals or anything crazy. (Adults got 3 taco combo, kiddo got a quesadilla and older kiddo got a torta, which in all honestly the fried sandwhich was the best out of all the food) Waited about 25-30 mins. Only one couple were there and two walks in with orders came and went. Wish I would have stuck with what type of tacos my husband got with his first experience, but I wanted to try my favorites. Birria taco was amazing! Just wish they gave consume to dip in. Chicarron I didn't even try because either we got jipped or I'm spoiled from New Mexican food. It's was soggy fat, not even fried had no meat at all to it. The barboca was okay, I guess. ate half of it, kinda dry. Beans were medicore but only gave a couple tablespoons of it, and the rice was bland and had peas in it? Never seen that in my entire life growing up with authentic Mexican food from my dad's lineage. Unfortunately ate one and a half tacos for my "mothersday splurge meal" not even an hour later I threw up. Not sure if the food was not handled well or of something was spoiled. We are going try the food truck and hope that's way better as it seems the restaurant may not ever be busy enough to give fresh food. We'll even tho I crave Mexican food that's good here in minnesota the search still continues. To me either we had terrible luck or this place is outrageously priced for mediocre food. Staff was professional but nothing to rave about either. Lady who took our order seemed tired and over her shift already. ( we went there...

Minneapolis needs to raise their bar when it comes to food. I ordered three tamales. No one was there aside from one group already half way done eating. It took ten minutes. That means they needed to be heated up. Because they are not fresh. And 5 minutes later when I got home, they were luke warm already. Taste good but come on. Folks, people in real cities haul around steamers. You have an actual location and can't manage this. They brought something out of some back area (probs my tamales) weird. I ordered three, 2 of one kind, one of another. They mixed it up. The menu prices are incorrect too.

Imagine a white boy correcting you on how to make and serve your food properly.

Oh but the loud music made me feel like that one time when I was on vacation in New Mexico lol, so 5 stars for the vibez.

$17 for three tamales and an horchata, sans ice cuz idk. Crazy.

Edit: removing another star because half of the tamale you shorted me on was crusty and hard. This...

Great Mexican restaurant with authentic Mexican dishes. There are no thrills. Zero thrills in fact. It’s like you got lost in some weird road in Mexico and you found yourself in a Tarantino movie. The food is the same consistency each time. Homemade, not restaurant quality but homemade. The people working are the same all the time. It’s a great small restaurant and small wannabe mercado with many Mexican things from real Mexican Coca Cola to desserts and fried pork rings, and you name it. You can say viva Mexico 🇲🇽 and it’s all worth it. American people should stop ordering burritos here because it’s not Chipotle’s inc. Mexican food is not burritos. You need to order Mexican food, and think outside the box. Use your imagination but don’t complain about a bad burrito but that’s not the place to get one period. Think of birria or tacos with some exotic meat. But don’t complain and ruin the food here dear...

It's been my favorite taco restautant since they opened their very 1st station at Portland and Lake street. Their regular tortilla tacos are what caught my attention, but their food flavors call to my appetite every time I think of a good taco night. They now have another location on Minnehaha Avenue in Minneapolis where I can enjoy by having a fresh and warm meal at one of their tables 😋. They have a large variety of drinks, i can chose a different drink everytime if i wanted. El primo restaurant has a wonderful food menu to choose from! Tacos are not they're only specialty, they are serving up a good plate of enchiladas to a great bowl of menudo or soup. This is the ideal destination for you're authentic Mexican food appetite!

Walked in on a whim, wasn’t fully hungry but wanted to try it out. I ordered two chicken tamales and some tortillas on the side! The tamales were piping hot and so were the tortillas!!! The sauces that came to the table were also great! Remember I wasn’t all that hungry, before I left I needed to make sure I wasn’t just start struck. So I ordered one Quesabirria taco Togo and it was massive and came with so much!!! Altogether I spent excellent money, and left very happy!!! Clean establishment, caring staff, and excellent quality food!!! This is my go to spot for delicious food now!!! Go now!!!!!!!
