I walked in early evening about 6:00. Just a few people in the establishment. I sat at the bar and the bartender was talking to someone at the end of the bar. He had to have seen me walk by him. Anyway, he continues to talk to that person while I am waiting to order a drink and food. Another customer comes in and and he served him immediately. He walks by right by me when he's making the drink for his regular. He never made eye contact with me and went on talking to both of them now. Meanwhile,. A second gentleman comes out with two bottles of Four Roses bourbon and glances me for a second. He starts talking with the bartender. Again, I never was acknowledged buy either. I am a proud American of Latino background. I know what discrimination is. So I just got up and walked across the street to stray dog. Immediately I was given ice water and a menu. I don't care about these type of people. I've experienced it many times in my life. I'm glad to take my money else where. I'm a disabled combat veteran. I deal with pain every day. Just remember that you have what you have because of Americans like me and my father who served in the Korean conflict. You can never take my American pride from me....
Read moreI've been here twice now, the first time was pleasant, sat at a table, got some drinks off the menu at the table. Went home. Service was good, we are pretty low maintenance usually, just going out for some good cocktails. Second visit (about 2-3 weeks ago or so), my partner and I go to the bar to sit. It's well stocked and there's many options. I feel overwhelmed and remember they had menus, with drinks on them, I asked the bartender (an older white woman) if there was a menu I could look at. She scoffs and said "We have a bar, this isn't an Applebee's". I felt embarrassed and also still had no real idea what to drink but now she's staring at me for my order. Finally I order a gin and tonic, only a drink I get under pressure. My partner ordered his drink and we get them, drink them, pay and leave. I waited this long to write a review as I didn't know if I was over reacting, but my partner also works in the service industry and he feels there's no excuse to be rude to someone like that. I don't think I'll be coming back, which is sad because it was nearby and I was hoping that would be a nice spot to get some drinks. Not worth feeling like an idiot and still giving...
Read moreStopped in here after work with a group of coworkers for food and bevies. The first thing I noticed upon entering was that there was a livejam of jazz musicians, which was a treat in my book. I then realized the place was bustling with good vibe folks, which is fun to be engulfed in. Thankfully, and despite the crowd, we successfully found a table able to accommodate our unexpected 10 bodies. To my delight, they serve Melt seltzer by Modist, which I'm quite fond of. A couple of us sat out on the quaint patio, that seats about 25ish QI ordered the chicken wings, well done, with the Cajun dry rub and both blue cheese dressing and bbq sauce onside. They were cooked perfectly, and I received not only each sauce I ordered but an additional blue cheese as well. My only minor dissatisfaction and the reason I give the food 4 stars would be in regards to the dry rub being very light and the fact that I was left wishing I had more of that good- good seasoning on my wings! It was light like porcelain or that one artist's "whitest white" paint that was created. Besides that and the star of the show was our server, who has only been there a month,...
