After being a customer for years, and coming back for the first time since the virus, I was extremely disappointed. The indoor space is small with booths and tables/chairs. The chairs were turned upside down, yet the booths were wide open for people to sit at and wait for the food. Not a single sign was on any of the 6-8 booths saying that seating was closed, even for waiting purposes. On top of that, not a single employee was wearing any kind of PPE; not even a simple mask. When I was in there, employees were sitting next to customers, looking at their phones, etc. they were accepting CC’s but no gloves or any other hygiene measure was taken. Google says they offer curbside, so I called my order in, and he said I would have to come inside to pick up my order. That’s not curbside in my eyes. At times, there were about 10-12 people inside the small, 15’x25’ dining area, chatting away, with no doors open, no signs to even say, you must wait outside and your order will be brought out to you; nothing. It’s a shame because the food is great, but I will take my business elsewhere where they are taking appropriate measures to help stop the spread and at least use common sense. Shame on you,...
Read moreI cannot recommend this place enough. I consider myself to be a foodie, and travel all over the Cities, the Midwest, the country, and abroad to find good food. These are some of the tastiest sandwiches I've ever had. If you are okay with "spicy" (I don't consider it to be spicy much at all, but to some people I suppose it would be), then your first try should be (the) El Diablo sandwich. They sell more of it than any other, at some 14,000+ a year, as I was informed. It's absolutely delicious. Otherwise, the meatball sandwich is one of the best I've ever had. They do all their meat (possibly also their meatballs) themselves (I believe they sell ham hocks etc.), and boy can you tell. Any of their sandwiches taste fresh and are a clever blend of flavors. The sides, I will say, are mediocre to okay, but the standard-issue special K bars are worth a nibble if you have a sweet tooth. The sandwiches are still enough for me to 5-star this place, always. As a fun aside, each sandwich delightfully come with a little chocolate mint. If you haven't yet discovered this little gem tucked away on the 394 frontage road, go try it asap. You...
Read moreI stopped in after a doctor's appointment and I was so hungry. They close at 3pm weekdays, it was about 2:30. This is the 1st time I have been to this shop. Very small and clean. No real wait to order, although it took me a bit to decide on what to eat. Counter person was very friendly and helpful. Very nice. I had the Italian Club. Pepperoni, a thin sliced Italian meat, ham, cheese, garlic mayo and italian vinegrette. Ordered with no raw onion. It comes heated. Meal includes a pickle spear( need to ask??) A bag of chips and a drink, I asked for bottled water and it was oked. They do have plenty of onsite parking and indoor seating. They did bring the sandwich and pickle out to me. It was delicious and hot. I could only eat 1/2 the sandwich and chips, got a small box to take the rest home. They have a few different sides you can order, all looked and sounded tasty. All of this was very reasonably priced. I will definitely be back, the shredded pork sandwich is calling my name. Even though they were trying to close, I did not feel rushed in...
