I have been receiving promotional stuff from Snuffy's for years. Not sure why, but I got the impression they were a premium restaurant where I would get an unforgettable Burger. Today, I finally made the trip.

The restaurant is located in a small strip mall and the outside and inside decor is underwhelming.

The table I sat at had the finish coming off and felt annoyingly sticky.

They had other items on the menu but I felt I had to try their signature burgers. I ordered a bacon cheese burger, fries and a diet Coke. If I wanted lettuce and tomato on the burger it would cost an extra dollar. I couldn't wait for it to arrive and it finally did.....

What arrived was amazingly similar to a McDonald's regular hamburger. I was extremely disappointed. It tasted ok, but not anything to write home to mommy about like I was expecting.

The fries were ok, some skin on and fairly tasty and a more generous portion. (like a small salad bowl full).

Maybe their shakes and malts are to die for...but I won't be back to find out.

I do want to mention that the service was exceptional. very responsive and quick.

Total bill: 17.55 and not worth it to me.

Summary: There are so many joints that have outstanding burgers. Do yourself a favor and go to one of those when craving great burgers because you wont...

Last time we go to Snuffy's - at least in Wayzata. Drove down there on a Saturday night and walk in and wait a good 5 minutes as the staff ignores us as time is ticking to when they close at 9 (on a Saturday). Finally once the clock literally hits 9:00, one employee rudely just goes "we're closed". We then asked if we could get just a malt to go - as they were finishing up one full to go meal for someone else. The manager finally chimes in that "they're closed" after he ran past us in the entry to bring someone their sunglasses, where we specifically asked him "still open?" The staff clearly waited and ignored us until they were off the clock to the second and then rudely told us we're out of luck. I'd be ok with them being closed, if not for the waiting and if round us, keeping he door open even after we left, horribly rude employees (rude besides the whole blatantly ignoring us), but not this.

Absolutely can say I will never go to Snuffy's again after this. Would give 0...

Attentive, professional staff that always seems to know just when to check with you. Excellent burgers and shakes, and all of their food feels fresh and served the instant it was finished. I usually opt out of jacket-on fries, but here they threaten to steal the spotlight. I love that they have the expertise and dare I say the integrity to salt them boldly — so many potatoes at so many restaurants have sacrificed themselves to mirthless, perfunctory consumption.

I digress. Also, if they ever have tater tots on special, get them.

Vibe is perfect. Bathrooms (shared with other businesses, seemingly) are a wreck but I’m guessing they know that and I’ll give them grace there because they pull everything else off with such professionalism.

Special note for folks who’ve only been to the Edina location: These are not equal restaurants. Pretend the one in Edina is a different restaurant, like that fake Mickey’s on highway...

Our service was great and also the best part of our visit. With a 4.5 out 5* rating I was expecting a lot more. Our food looked good, in fact it looked better than it tasted. Don't get me wrong we ate our meals without complaining, but everything was underseasoned. The meat in the burgers had no flavor and you can only get them served medium-well. The food isn't exactly cheap ether. My burger was $8.50 and they don't come with fries or chips. The malts were really good, but both my wife and I experienced sore throats while drinking them. We've never experienced that before and the soreness subsided within a couple hours of being home. All this being considered there are many other great burger places in the twin cities that will give you a more enjoyable experience for your time and money.

Fantastic burgers, regular- and waffle-style fries served family size, and a huge selection of malts—I say yes, yes, and yes. Helpful staff, too--not always the case these days! I got a double burger with jalapeno bacon (I haven't found that stuff in the grocery stores for a long time, so this was a special treat) and a full-size blueberry malt, and it was everything you imagine. Check out that toasted bun! Full size on the malt, by the way, means I finish off that glassful, then refill it nearly two more times. Hmmm, let's refer quickly to my restaurant-eating guidelines ... I see that yes, that is the correct amount of malt, so if any of you order the half-sized malt and feel undernourished, you can't say I didn't warn you.
