Arbyâs 2.0 has always been a place to have a good chill time and relax. One time quite a few years ago I stopped in to play a little blackjack when I saw a man that looked very similar to Mike Tyson, he was the only other person in the bar and he also just happened to be playing blackjack. I wasnât 100 percent sure and didnât want to come off as weird so I just sat down and played a couple hands with him. I spent the next few minutes glancing out of the corner of my eye at him and probably making him very uncomfortable, I turned and said, "Hi Mr. Tyson, I've always wanted to meet you!" (I know, cringe in hindsight but whatever). He let out a little chuckle and replied in a very distinct voice, still looking down at his cards, "I hear I look like Mike Tyson all the time". Disappointed but not deterred, I asked, "Oh, so you're not really Mike Tyson?". He paused for a few seconds before replying, "Oh I am, that's why I get told I look like him, Iâm signing some autographs at Four Bears this weekend at some local fights". Not even waiting for him to finish his sentence, I yelped, "I knew it!â Awkward silence ensued for a few seconds, before I told him, "Mr. Tyson, I have a 14 year old son currently training in boxing, weâre actually in the process of moving to California to be part of a more established gym. Can you give me a few tips to improve his chances of success? I have a ton of respect for you so any tip will help". He nodded his head for a few seconds, and said, "let me think". He turned to me and said something I will never forget. He looked into my eyes and said, "While still on the come up you've got to make sure that he knows, win or lose, heâs still the same person that he was before the match and I expect you and the coach you choose to treat him as such. Too many coaches and parents treat these kids differently based on how they perform, but his coaches have got to make sure theyâve connected with him as a person before they can improve him as a fighter". My eyes got wide. I couldn't believe I was sitting here getting coaching advice from one of the greatest of all time! I stammered out, "I'm going to need a few minutes to process that". He let out a light little laugh, then said he understood. He played one more hand and then stood up and started walking away before turning back to talk to me. "I'm going to grab a drink, do you want anything?". I stood up to answer him, "yeah, I'd like a gin and tonic thanks. Really appreciate it! How much should I give you?" Iron Mike said, "I need about tree fiddy." It was around this time when I realized that Mike Tyson was around 7 stories tall and a crustacean from the Paleozoic era. Damn it, Nessie! That God Damn Loch Ness Monster had tricked me again. "Damnit, Iron Mike, I ain't given you no tree fiddy" I yelled as he...
Read moreI wish I had more positive to say about this place. I like what they have built over the years. My most favorite bartender works here, sadly.
The one bartender Qasim absolutely gorgeous. She paid her surgery obviously well for his great work. That's totally awesome. Good for you. Here comes the problem. A few ladies and I go in. I've never seen her before. She does her job and asks for IDs. Cool. No issue. The problem was here attitude towards us,.rude and condensing, at least until she saw our men come in and join us. Her chest suddenly puffs up and her tone simmers. Half the time we were there, she paraded up and down the line while people were waiting to be served. She would be polite to the guys, but rude and even ignore the women at the table.
The owner is a trip in herself. She has proudly proclaimed that she's menopausal and bipolar, with out taking her prescribed medication and that her employee just had to deal with her behavior.
She also said that she purposely has this same employee working only than particular shift, knowing that there's no customers so she can have control and able to manipulate said employee with her pay. Not long after realizing, this employee was living with her then black boyfriend, fired her after passing a stress test better than any other employee up to that date. She also stated she wanted her employee to do her hair and look particular way. What person is going to scrub bar toilets as her day job with $300 hair extensions for minimum wage?
She clearly stated her mission was to change the reputation of Arny's and would say not very nice things about the customers that did show up. When she was at her place of business, she would get so drunk she became inappropriate and rude. Working behind the bar while intoxicated is a big legal no no for...
Read moreWhat an amazing find. Food was excellent and different from anything you can get in minot. Server and owner were so nice. Try the corn muffins and deviled eggs. Amazing! They are even updating their menue to add some new things and can't wait to go back and try the new offerings. They also do brunch on the weekends and we plan to go back and try that as well. Great find in Minot for something outside of the regular meat...
