Nov 2023 Update: Still impressive, great service, delicious food, good wine list. Breads from the bakery across the street are a great add! All in al, still 5 stars! No hesitation in giving this Gastro Pub 5 stars! Went with colleagues for dinner based on mostly complimentary Google reviews. Did not disappoint. The restaurant is tastefully and minimalistic ally designed with a large bar on one side. We were promptly seated and attended to by Ryan, the bartender. He was friendly, professional and easy/fun to converse with! Service was fantastic. We ordered Steak Bites, Caprese Skewers, and Fries Flight (a heavenly tray loaded with Waffle Fries, Regular Hand Cut Fries, Sweet Potato Fries, and Tator Tots) as appetizers, followed by Build Your Own Burgers (akin to Bacon Cheeseburger, and Jalapeño Lovers Burger with Roasted Corn on the side - the Prairie Sky Breads jalapeño cheddar bun was divine, as was the Muenster Cheese; the bun is prepared at the bakery across the street), and Honey Habanero Crispy Chicken Sandwich. Drinks consisted of Stella Rosa Moscato D’Asti (peach, apricot, honey, from the Riboli Family Estates, Piedmont, Italy 2019), Honoro Vera Garnacha (raspberry, currant, juicy cherry, spice, from Bodegas Ateca, Calatayud, Spain, 2019), and Chipper - Fargo Brewing IPA. A memorable meal overall, not just for the elevated food and drinks, but also for the exceptional service! Prices were extremely reasonable, given current inflationary times. Glad we visited; plan to return!

Bartender is far too bland of a description for the artisans at the Ironhorse Kitchen & Bar. These wizards of libation hand craft each cocktail like their very lives depended on the quality and presentation of it! Their deft handling of the tools of the trade assure near surgical accuracy of their ingredients as each adds their own signature flair. One can only watch with awe at the fervor and zealotry that goes into ensuring perfection. These guys mix drinks with the same care a mother has for her newborn baby! You know in the first sip that you’re drinking a liquid work of art! While they’re happy to make you the absolute best of your trusty standby drink, you’ll do your palette a favor by stepping out of your comfort zone and letting them create something truly miraculous. I tried The Switchman Old Fashioned and it was absolutely spectacular!

Truthfully, if you were to go to the location; go for the booze rather than the food, way better at making the drinks than the food. It wasn't really any better than the common bar food, almost comparable to the peanuts they leave on the bar tops. Though they do give you plenty of food, pairing well with what they charge for the prices; i can really only say they nailed the fried pickles, but they burnt the jalapeño burger I ordered. The only thing that saved the burnt taste was the topping of jalapeños, and sauce from the fried pickles. The service was fantastic, even though drastically busy. The restaurant really goes all out for the holidays. It's a full Christmas paradise, the only thing that really attracted my party there.

I am extremely disappointed about my experience. We arrived at 6 15 and were promptly seated along with another group. We placed our order at 6:45 pm. At 7:10 we were simply told our food would be a while, no other explanation was given. We noticed the other group seated at the same time as us had already gotten their food. We sat, and sat and waited. It took 1 hour for us to get our food (1 burger and some wings) the couple who was sat the same time as us was walking out the door before we got our food. Time is money. We sat there for 1 hour waiting for food and not a single manager came to offer an apology or see what they could do to make this right. They started to tell ppl coming in that there was a long wait for food but this was well after we were sat and ordered. Management knew what was going on and didn't even try to talk to it's guests and offer anything to make it right like a free drink while we wait or a discount on our meal.

Our waiter was friendly, the burger was very good, the wings were good as well. The fries were some of the worst fries you could ever have.

All in all had someone made just a little effort to apologize and make our situation right, I would go back. But I'm disgusted at managements lack of presence and I'll never, ever go back.

P.s. I did still tip the waiter well because it was most likely...

I liked to go there because it is (was?) the only place we know of in Minot were you could get a "choose your own" vegetarian, gluten free burger. I liked the sautéed onions and mushrooms with some cheese and a ranch sauce. It was always very juicy and tasty. Also the service was good..... Until the last time I was there... First the music was really wild, not like the usual music they played. Then there was the waitress...little bit advanced in age and rude! It was early noon. Only 2 tables were taken. The waitress leads us to a table in the middle of the room. I politely asked her if it would be possible to sit at a different table because I feel uncomfortable sitting in the middle. Answer: "You are a little bit complicated, are you?" Wow! I didn't say anything. Then I ordered the burger mentioned above. I took the first bite and it tasted like bacon. My friend tasted it too and agreed. There was a smokey taste to it. So I asked the waitress about it and she assured me that there was no meat in there. Well something was certainly different. I thought maybe the chef working that day thought it's smart to add some smokey flavoring to it. Well, that same afternoon my stomach felt sick for hours. I will give it one more try and I hope I will get the good service and food like I did before. If not...to bad! Not...
