So this was my first time here. Place is absolutely stunning inside with the artwork/painting. There is no actual menu. There is a qr code you can scan once inside to order online it i saw a computer to the right I think to possibly order through there. I heard of this spot from a friend so I decided to stop by on my way home. Didn't really see anything out i wanted so I inquired about salmon and shrimp. So I was asked if I wanted it with rice or pasta but I had no idea it was jerked. Well I probably should've asked or shouldn't been told. But the young lady at the register lacked personality and I really didn't seem helpful. I went to pay for my food & it was like $38. I didn't know it was an up charge for shrimp. Again a lack of explanation of what I'm getting, I wanted asked if I wanted anything else etc. Anyway I sat down waiting and pulled up the menu online, it said they had watermelon lemonade so I went and asked to purchase some. She just shook her head like no. I said what you don't have it? She didn't open her mouth just shook her head. Mind you behind the counter there are other drinks she didn't even bother to ask if I wanted any other flavor or any thing else to drink. POOR SERVICE FROM THIS YOUNG LADY. Anyway, I finally got my food and left. If I wanted to eat there again I works order online. You save 5.00 on your order and they also have a bogo...
Read moreVisited IslandTings at 1030am and upon arrival, we were greeted so kindly and loudly. Food was steaming hot being placed out for day. Oxtails wasn’t ready yet for time of order so my BF went with BrownStewedChicken instead. Which he enjoyed very much. Very flavorful and definitely worth it he stayed. I ordered the SalmonRastaPasta with Onions&BellPeppers; which was so creamy and delicious. Had a bit spicy and sweetness to salmon, which I appreciated that they cooked salmon differently from pasta and with its own flavors and separate taste from creamy pasta. Plate was so delicious and mouthwatering. I was very pleased with our order and definitely posted IslandTings on SocialMedia and referred my family in GroupChat whenever they in town (since we’re TruckDrivers OTR and constantly away from home or home state) to come to visit restaurant. We enjoyed our meals and very satisfied of all. Will be returning for that Oxtail definitely in near future. Also, the ambiance in restaurant captures your attention to Jamaica’s history and culture. Vibrant facts and photos of historic remembrance. Resin table decor was a unique touch that set IslandTings from casual restaurants. In total, we were awed and impressed. Delighted. Thank You, Island Tings. Can’t wait to travel and visit you again....
Read moreToday was my first time at this restaurant, and customer service was not the greatest. The person serving had an attitude the entire time. Every question I asked was an attitude, and because I could not hear over the music, along with me being on a virtual meeting in my ear, so I indicated I did not hear, so she had to repeat, she had an attitude. I also inquired if they chopped up the jerk chicken since she placed a leg and a huge piece of thigh. She gave me a look and pointed to the jerk chicken that it was already cut up. I advise her that usually, the Jamaican restaurants would chop up the chicken. I asked for curry chicken only, no rice, and she got upset, saying they didn't separate it. I said, "I only wanted the meat, but she can put the rice in. The person I'm ordering for can toss the rice."
She had such an attitude that she ended up ringing up my orders in two separate orders, telling me she forget to ring up the two patties I ordered. 🤦🏽♀️
Since this is my first time, I was in shock and quiet the whole time. I'm in awe of her attitude.
The jerk chicken was very spicy, but well seasoned. That's the only thing I can review since the patties and curry chicken were for...
