It's been more than 12 months since I've been here, honestly it is not the same to me. I purchased the chicken and steak empanadas as well as a guava pastry. they're so expensive now more than $3 each, I didn't know their system coming in the door and how to order. After being in some sort of a line, I thought I would go over to where the empanadas are point out what I want and then they take it over to the register and I pay for it but, no that's not the way they do things here, or maybe it was me. I don't know if they ever did it like this because it's so long. I don't remember it being like this, I guess I was supposed to know this already, to come over to the register to place the order and pay first. tell her what I wanted which I don't remember exactly what everything was so I felt rushed I had to do all of this at the cash register without even seeing their product the person who tended to me I felt she rushed me she tried to give me what she wanted me to have and I told her to put one of them back and I chose another item, because it was so small. I said to myself I'm not paying more than $3 for an item and getting the smallest one out of all of them in the case. I didn't like either one of the patties they taste different, and they smelled weird. I just threw them away I was disgusted by the smell alone and The taste didn't even help. I don't know what they did to it, but I won't be returning ever. And that's because of the product and also...
Read moreI like this place but I’m changing my review to only 2 stars because Vicky Bakery is not requiring masks for customers eating inside.
When I went in this morning to order some pastries to go, the customers making the line were wearing masks and were properly distanced thanks to markers on the floor, and the employees were wearing masks, as well...
HOWEVER, there were 7 firemen (probably more exposed to the virus than a regular person in quarantine) standing around a 4 person high table, talking loud (saliva probably going everywhere), and not a single one of them was wearing a mask.
I always mind my own business, but I had to point it out to the employee taking my order — after all, we’re now the epicenter of this pandemic.
The employee explained that if you’re at a table eating you don’t have to wear a mask, and that a mask is only required if you’re making the line for takeout.
Problem is, this place is very small — their table was 2 feet away from where I was ordering and paying, AND this is indoors!
This policy may make sense outside but not inside.
People, when places like Italy were the epicenter, they had an excuse — we knew nothing about this virus — we were all caught off guard and blindsided…
But we should know better by now, and we have no excuse for this type of negligence.
So let’s be responsible or at least respectful of our...
Read moreCame here often for some yummy food. Lately the service has been less than good and the food has been okay. Today 6/14/2018 I came in at 12:39 and I was the only customer in the store at the time. The lady who took my order seemed to not be listening and I had to repeat myself a few times. I speak both english and spanish and told my very simple order in both languages. I wanted a piece of cuban toast with 2 ham croquetas inside nicely toasted, 1 guava pastelito and a colombiana soda. The order took about 16 minutes to make and cost 10.88. WTH!!!!! I left because I was already late to work. When I get in my car it smells of onions and pork. Sure enough I check it and there is a full blown mix of stuff in between bread. I go back and ask to speak to a manager. The manager lady was very nice and she did correct my order and reviewed my receipt and gave me change as I was overcharged. It is really irresponsible to over charge someone something that normally cost 3.65. She again asked me what kind of pastelito I wanted and gave me a materva when it was supposed to be a colombiana soda. I was late to work unfortunately and will not be visiting for a bit. It is unfortunate because it is one of the few places to get spanish eats in that area. But Sergio's rarely ever gets it wrong and the prices are reasonable. It is worth the...
