Last night on Mother's Day, my experience was alarming. The first strike was that we had asked the manager, Fabian Garcia, numerous times to put on the Florida Panthers Playoff game, and due to his negligence, we missed the entirety of the game. Second, we had ordered a ribeye 16oz cooked medium and requested that a loaded baked potato and Caesar salad come as our sides. Initially, when the salad came it looked like any old ceaser, until I took my first bite and realized that it was grossly overdressed to the point where my lettuce was soggy, and dripping salad dressing.
When our steak arrived, it was extremely overcooked and our baked potato had a plastic ramekin lid that had completely melted into it. When we mentioned that to our server he took it to the manager and I watched as he dismissed him. When the manager passed by our table he insinuated that we put the lid into the potato ourselves. Please note that we did not have access to any lids at all.
Fabian was aburt in our multiple interactions. He admitted to thinking we placed the lid in our own food because we were upset. We let him know that we had our food come to the table that way, and he said that after speaking to expo, he realized the mistake came from there. No apologies were given. We let him know that our salad was grossly overdressed as well and it was sent back. He claimed that ceasars "come that way" even though the other 3 ceasars we ordered were less dressed. He asked what else we wanted and we simply just wanted our steak to come cooked correctly. After the steak came back to the table, it was cooked correctly and he finally offered his apologies and let us know he discounted the tab.
After finishing up our meal, we went to pay the tab and realized both the baked potato and caesar salad were still on our tab, as well as a 10 % discount. This discount did not cover both the salad and the potato. We asked for the manager again and he became extremely defensive. We let him know that we do not feel we should pay for food that had a lid in it or came incorrectly. Fabian became combative, and we expressed that we feel he has been continuously argumentative and has made our Mother's day dinner a bad experience. He then unloaded on us that he has "over 2,000 covers tonight alone" and is "having a rough night." We let him know we all work in the restaurant industry as servers and he interrupted, telling us "congratulations" while speaking over us. We had to stop and ask if he could let us finish to avoid more confrontation. We said we understood that it was busy, however, the tone and manner in which he handled our table were both unprofessional and unacceptable. We told him that the food was not our issue, but rather his poor attitude. He then grabbed the receipt and removed the salad and potato. He brought it back and then left without a word.
My family and I have come to this location multiple times and chose to spend Mother's Day here based on the consistency and great service. Our server Malik, has a great attitude and took care of us to the best of his ability. However, our experience was soured by our interactions with Fabian.
I would expect a manager to carry themselves professionally, however our server carried the correct attitude over his superior. We are disappointed in our experience and are shocked by Fabian's actions based on our previous experiences here that...
Read moreThis location just isn't as good as the others. We were seated, the waiter promptly came over and said he would be right with us and then was gone for about 10 minutes. He finally came and took our drink order. But he kept glancing over at another table behind us for some reason. I handed him my napkin and asked him for another one because, for some reason, mine was full of holes. That doesn't bother me. The fact that I had to remind him to bring me another one does bother me.
He came back and took our food order and again kept glancing at some other table, very odd. I was going to ask him to refill my drink, but he walked away while I was still talking! After a 5+ minute wait, I finally shoved my empty glass to the edge of the table. I guess he saw it and got the hint because he brought me a refill. He also apologized that he was "hyper aware of everything and was a little distracted," for which he apologized. Maybe so, but if you make an apology and then keep repeating the same bad behavior, it's not a real apology.
The worst thing was when they finally brought our food. It wasn't hot, and it was clearly sitting in the pass for some time. it wasn't just my food, It was all 4 people at our table. And that's just inexcusable. we went ahead and ate it because by this point, we just didn't want to sit there longer while they had to recook everything. We had been there too long already.
I've been to the location twice. Both experiences have not been good. The location in Sanford, Florida, is excellent. The location in Miami on Flagler Street is equally excellent, so it must just be this location.
I also resent spending a lot on a steak and being charged 50 cents for bacon bits? Not the money but the principle.
5/5/24 update. The food was good but the service still not great. We never got bread plates. We had to flag down the waiter for refills even though he kept walking by the table.
11/10/24. The food once again was underwhelming. The service was okay but very hairy because the poor waitress had way more tables to wait on than anyone could handle. Sadly, I stand by my comment that this is the worst location in the chain. The half-hearted apology from management certainly doesn't help matters.
1/4/25. I have to tell you we ate here again because it was just convenient to where we were but my last three visits it took over 1 hour to get our food. I think that's unreasonably long for this sort of restaurant.
7-20-25 the service in this place continues to be abysmal are waiter went to his other table regularly totally ignoring us unless we ask somebody else to get him. Refills were impossible to get. Our order was wrong. And I've never been to a restaurant where the server doesn't come over after everybody has their food and asked if everything was okay is the food good do you need anything. That is not part of the training at this restaurant. It's just this location let...
Read morePlease retrain your staff and your supervisor by the name of AL working (Sunday night 2/4/24 @9:20PM). Had a horrible experience with extremely long wait time to get our food (1 hour). After I asked to speak to him and explain the situation and a suggestion to possibly retrain the waitress to check in the customer every 15/20 minutes to just let them know that the kitchen is working on it and not leave them completely in the dark. AL became very combative instead of hearing out what a frustrated paying customer had to say. I let him know that after waiting an hour we finally received our food I was still waiting for my side sweet potato. He went back to the kitchen to get one. I waited an additional 15/20 minutes for this sweet potato. By this time everyone in my table had finished their food and I went ahead and paid and even asked for a to go box. He finally brings out the sweet potato in foil in a to go box. I open it and it’s just a sweet potato with nothing else… no toppings like I had ordered it. I get up and ask all if he looked at the order and he replies that he just went and got a sweet potato. I tell him that I don’t want to tell him how to do his job, but if I’m dealing with an unhappy customer, I would have looked at his order to ensure I get the customer everything he/she ordered and try to learn where “we (TRH)” failed and try to learn from it. He then replies to not insult him in a combative manner….!!!!??? That if he was going to be insulted he was going to dish out insults too!!!?? I was shocked that he would come out with that and didn’t want to take it any further because I was with my 2 young daughters and it was a school night. I then asked him if he was the general manager and he says no, he’s on vacation. I reply, I can tell and asked him for his contact information. @ Scott (Manager at the Miramar TRH). Please retrain AL on how to deal with customers and how to deescalate a situation rather than try to insult a regular paying customer. My family eats at this TRH 1/2 times per week, and can honestly say this was the worst visit we’ve had since they opened this location. This experience will not stop us from visiting again, but please retrain AL the supervisor on how to provide better customer service. He really represents the TRH brand in a...
