This is one of my favorite places to eat lunch. I typically take my food to go because I work right down the street walking distance. I always order ahead which makes it so my food is ready when I arrive. The owner is so fun to speak with and you can tell he really loves his business and connecting with his customers. We’ve ordered a lot of different items from the menu over the years but are go to item is the Turkey panini sandwich. This is my wife’s favorite sandwich and anytime I’m coming home for lunch I know she’ll be so happy if I offer to pickup this sandwich for her. It’s a grilled sandwich with a slice of pear and Muenster cheese I believe. The Italian sausage sandwich is also very good and I’ve ordered it several of times. In the past they had their “Heaven” cookies available to purchase but last I heard you needed to order a dozen to enjoy them. This is one of the best cookies I’ve ever had and I always ordered them when they were available for individual sale. I never bought less than two or three at a time. My only wish was that they offered breakfast. I think a lot of their neighbors would get breakfast daily from them....
Read moreThe food here is absolutely amazing! It has a nice and homely atmosphere and the owners are very good and friendly people who truly care about the quality of what they serve. I tried their wild mushroom ravioli and meat lasagna and both were the best Italian dishes I have ever eaten. The ravioli noodle was perfectly tender and the flavor of the mushrooms really combined with the cheese to produce a great flavor. The lasagna had perfectly seasoned tomato sauce and was perfectly proportioned- not too much cheese or sauce like many other places serve. As if it couldn’t get better, we decided to try their tiramisu and it was the best combination of a light texture and perfect combination of flavors. What I really loved about their food is that nothing is overly sweet or salty, and everything tastes just right. I normally don’t write reviews, especially such long ones, unless the store is one of the best and I have only written 2, which shows how great...
Read moreThis is one of the most wonderful restaurants in the world!!! Stella and Victor are the best hosts... love them. Stella is a fantastic cook and prepares authentic and delicious meals from her home of Bologna, Italia. In a sea of generic restaurants in OC, Mangi Con Amore stands out as a real gem. Nothing fake, all real, natural, home cooked meals... made with LOVE! Hard to pick a favorite... love the lasagne, eggplant parmigiana, butternut squash ravioli, mushroom ravioli, asparagus ravioli, the salads, tiramisu, cucidati, biscotti... and her pesto, special salt, and incredible olive oil. This is a small place where you can eat inside or out, pick up food to bring home, and (like we do) take home frozen meals to have on hand. Whenever we eat her food at home, I say "thank you Stella!". If you want a warm, unpretentious, quality experience... visit Mangi...
