For about a month, I've been checking out different bead stores all across SoCal in search of large selections and varieties of beads. Bead Station was one of the bead shops I encountered when I was in Orange and in search of seed beads. This store has an extensive collection of beads for almost any project and the largest collection of delicas I've seen thus far. However, their 11/0 round seed beads appeared to have many colors out of stock when I went. While the 11/0 seed beads were given in generous portions of 25g, prices fluctuated greatly depending on brand (Toho and Miyuki are what I saw) as well as color. Prices can vary from $3 a vial to $9. When buying beads to restock, this can be especially daunting. Even so, the atmosphere of the store was quite alright and the customer service and assistance was appreciated. There were times where it felt I was being watched/followed by staff, but it was nothing too serious to prevent me from wanting to return. Overall, a good bead store with varied selections and a little bit of everything. Rather than calling ahead and seeing if certain products are carried, I HIGHLY suggest going in person as many products are simply up on the shelves and information regarding specific products is not readily known by staff. Also note that the store is a little hidden within the plaza it's located in! Drive around the area slowly and keep an eye out for the name of the store as all the signs for the shops in the plaza look the same (same color, font, size, etc.). âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸ 4/5 stars! Might pass by again...
Read moreThis review is long over due, but Jill and everyone at Bead Station are the best. I was given my grandmas string of pearls when she passed away so I really wanted to wear them to feel close to her on my wedding day, but the string as it was didnât look right with my dress. I had a vision of how I wanted them to look and when I went to some pearl specialists they said it couldnât be done or it would cost me thousands. The last place I came to was bead station and after talking Jill through my idea and asking if there was anything she could do to help, she quickly thought of an idea and got on it. I ended up with the necklace and bracelet set of my dreams. She was even able to make coordinating bracelets for all of my bridesmaids and a necklace for my niece. It felt so special that a bit of grandmas memory was spread all over on my wedding night. I couldnât have done that without Jill and this lovely little bead shop. Itâs that level of service that makes we want...
Read moreDisclaimer: I'm the owner's Son The Bead Station has been in the new location for almost 2 years now, and it's been quite a journey. We are operating 7 days a week with a skeleton crew of 3 wonderful, dedicated part time employees (that's it!), and Jill covers the rest. Jill (the owner) is one of the most hard working, honest, talented, and intelligent people I know. Every time I'm in the store, I see her and her employees going above and beyond to help/service their customers...If anything, that's why her store is still one of the best in Orange County, and that's also why her store is still around. Yes I'm the owner's son, but I know when I see someone who loves what they do, and who cares very much about their customers...and Jill most certainly does. With the bad economy over the past 7 years, it has been hard...but through the love and passion for beading/jewelry design, hard work, and customer service...the Bead...
