Paul's Pantry — Restaurant in Mission Viejo

Walking in, I was greeted with sit wherever you like. So I sat in a none populated area because I saw one side of the room was very crowded. I ordered the meat lovers omlette, coffee, hash browns, and English muffin lightly toasted. Several other people entered the restaurant, and all sat in the same area. The food came in a reasonable time. As he sat the food in front of me, he put the food down with the English muffin last, saying, "lightly toasted." May I refer you to the photo of the English muffin, not lightly toasted and said it with attitude. It was actually funny to me but not funny. The eggs in the omlette were undercooked, and there was a mystery meat I didn't recognize. I thought it may have been the sausage, but I'm not sure. The best thing on the plate was the hashbrowns. So I didn't eat the omlette or touch the English muffin. I took the omlette and gave it to a homeless man. When I went to pay the ticket, the cashiers only words to me was, " Do you want your receipt." If the mission was to give me such bad customer service that I don't come back, then they did a great job. Never going back, and neither should you. I left there still hungry, so I went to Stacks pancakes. ...

Let me start by saying the service here is great! Our waitress was very sweet and understanding.

Now as for the food...It was terrible. Maybe we ordered the “wrong thing” but with the high ratings I thought everything would be good. I order Hueovos Rancheros and my husband the Spanish Omelette. As soon as my “rancheros” hit the table I figured I had made a mistake. Anyone who know rancheros knows they come on a CRISPY corn tortilla with beans and salsa. These came on a soft tortilla smothered in someone’s interpretation of salsa verde I’m assuming. The first and only bite I took was so disappointingly gross that I couldn’t even think about finishing the meal. I look up at my husband to see his mutual understanding that this food was disgusting. Whatever “salsa” they put on his eggs taste like hot watered down ketchup. Needless to say we’re never...

My first and last. The older waitress with the pretty green eyes.made me feel like she was in a hurry to get me out asap. Clearly....i was still going through the menu and she kept asking if I was ready three times in less than five mins with a mean attitude. The pancakes were not cooked so I ate the two eggs and two strips of bacon. For comfort food i asked the lady waitress for the cinnamon roll alla mode same thing....not baked enough for my taste. Basically just a pile of raw dough. I still tipped over 20% cause I am a waiter. With 30 years under my belt and it's not easy. Besides tipping my waitress I also tipped a younger waitress ..much more pleasant that did talked to me and kept filling my coffee. I couldnt help over hearing her husband or close friend had had back surgery. By the way...
