Today was our Mother's Day Late Dinner, it was not a Great Dinner nor dining experience! The service was surprisingly Bad! The guy at the host desk was obviously tired and not pleasant he stated the wait time was 20 min... it was already 8:05.... we watched 12 people leave within 4 minutes of us sitting, we were still waiting to be seated, we even gave them time to be courteous by telling us it will be sooner to be seated after tables cleared. But, no one cared. When they did seat us, he never asked if we liked high tables ( and we didn't) then he sashayed us to a table right by the busy door.... we had to ask for another table. When we were finally seated to a better location, the table setting was incomplete. We had no saucers for sharing our appetizers. Now, we ordered drinks, to be informed that the ice was low, then our waitress brought in wrong beverages , so we had to wait on the correct beverages. The waitress was rushing but was able to quickly. informed us about all the food they didn't have anymore....( we should've left, but silly us, we stayed to waste our funds on subpar food, and terrible service) Well, it took 25 minutes to get the charbroiled oysters....I never received a drink refilling, the waitress did tell us how busy she is...... I am now wishing we would've not have chosen this place.... as an fyi...I did call an hour before arriving and asked if they were out of any items on menu.... I was told by the male host that they had everything on the menu available to order.... he lied to me ... I realize this after the waitress read about 5-7 items from the menu that they were out of.... including ice... just about!)
Anyway.... we order.... I specifically ask the basic request ... let my food be hot! Well when the food finally came out .... it was room temperature, we were not happy. My three dinner members attempted to eat,, but it was just not good. I had to request that the waitress have someone microwave or she warm up my shrimp and grits. She became .. she mildly defensive and was explaining how the food just got to the window when she picked it up.... I tell her, regardless, it is not hot! ) The shrimp pasta and chicken pasta was clearly dried up and the the chef must have given us the ladt scraping from the pot... it was not edible, nor is this something that I have ever seen from this franchise. The presentation was horrible and not edible...we had bad food. It shouldn't matter that it was the end of the night..... we paid over $ 200 for food that was not up to standards and bad service and to hear a nice waitress give us a lot of excuses. She was consistently late, obviously we were not a priority. She did have manny excuses of how busy she is. Needless to say, our Mother's Day dinner with our husbands was terrible and the dining experience was not fun , it was not special at all. I am so sorry this happened to us.

My experience was a familiar Spirit I understand the restaurant policy. Missed communication. The restaurant acted as if they had no knowledge of this event. 2- it was booked in blank an white No one seemed not to know who she spoke with. At that time 17 guests were left sitting for an hour to be looked over. .
Customer service, 1 The owner as he stated was not at all concerned He states that she came In the day of , not true . He stated It was nothing that he could do .we could wait to try an be seated or we could pay 2500.00 an rent a room . Who would do that? . She wasn’t getting married that wasn’t even a reasonable suggestion. He did suggest that we could always go somewhere else, rude but still a great suggestion we did just that 2 . The hostess began to talk to her coworker I couldn’t here the whole conversation but I did hear her say she wish we would just leave an that she didn’t care about any of it she had no sympathy at all. An Ms Addison your wishes was granted.
The moral of the story , Be carful of how you treat others especially when you are in business with out paying customers there is no business . Half Shell Oyster House lost a large amount of money we had 24 guests . If the owner as he states would have open the room that he wanted to rent for 2500.00 form 6-8 He would have made a great amount of money . poor business judgement when you have an empty room with customers wrapped around the room to be seated an you have a empty chairs profiting nothing what a waste/loss . Read moreSaturday evening on May 18, 2019, I went to a evening birthday celebration at Half Shell Oyster House in Hattiesburg, MS. My husband and I arrived there to find the rest of the birthday party waiting. Half Shell Oyster claimed there wasn’t a reservation. We asked for the manager, he was very rude and arrogant his name is Wayne. He told us if we have 2,500 dollars we can be seated. That is completely crazy . This young lady wouldn’t have sent out beautiful invitation to her evening birthday dinner if they didn’t tell her she had a reservation. A rude young lady that work in the front by the name of Addison said she didn’t care if we don’t have a reservation she just want us to leave. We are very sophisticated African Americans. We wasn’t loud are acting out of our character. We was treated like nothing. There was a group of about 20 white Caucasian outside waiting to be seated and they said they just made a reservation. Really Racism at it’s best !!!! This is 2019 and I don’t play the race card but on yesterday evening it happened. The birthday party sat quietly while the dinner party coordinator was trying to figure out what happened to her reservation. Half Shell Oyster Employees that work in the front was talking about us rolling their eyes and this was completely disrespectful and rude. Then she picked up the phone saying she was going to call the police. Let me clear something up we were still being calm and not ignorant. Even through all this rudeness. HALF SHELL OYSTER HOUSE whoever is over this restaurant, you need to check your employee’s and how they treat people.
