I only gave 1 star because it wouldn’t let me give zero. I went to the store for a specific purpose. My aunt passed away recently and she always made tea from a specific blend from this store. I went to purchase the teas needed to recreate her blend and my family was met with a pretty awful experience. While I was perusing the teas, one of my children accidentally broke a lid to a teapot. Of course, we were planning on paying for the broken item, but immediately, she ran over to where my husband and child were and instead of accepting my child’s very teary “I’m sorry”, she ignored him and said “yep, that’s going to cost you $20”. My husband took my children out of the store while I finished looking and when I went to pay for the tea I had chosen (and the tea pot), the woman (whom I can only assume is the owner), proceeded to talk badly about my child and how she “bets he’ll never do it again”, and if it were at a place like target he wouldn’t have to pay, blah blah blah. Then when I asked her about a specific ingredient listed on the tea bag, she looked at me and said “it’s chemicals… we only have a small section of teas that don’t have fake ingredients and chemicals in them. It’s too expensive to use real ingredients.” That and how she treated my family upon the ACCIDENT, I put the tea back and paid for the broken teapot and left without a single kind word from the woman. I will never step foot in this store again, and will spend my money elsewhere that shows compassion to CHILDREN, and that doesn’t sell tea filled with cancer causing chemicals. Do yourself a favor and find a different place to...
Read moreAlthough, I have been buying tea from the company for years, I will NEVER purchase again. I have been purchasing online due to living out of state. On a recent visit to Montana, I decided to stop in to buy bags of tea gifts for people. The woman running the counter told us that she was closing the store in three minutes, even though the posted hours were saying that we still had a half an hour. We asked her to give us advice on where certain tees where and if she had any recommendations. She was so incredibly rude that I decided to only buy the one tea that had been requested by someone else. If you are bad at your job, you need to find something else to do. If you work in a specialty store, you should know the ingredients of your specialty items. There is absolutely no reason to treat customers...
Read moreI went to Montana Tea and Spice for the first time last week not knowing anything about it. I was disappointed there are no bulk spices, everything is pre-packaged. I ended up spending $20 and have been thoroughly disappointed. The basil I got is awful. There are 1/2 inch long stems among the leaves, horrible when you get a bite with a huge poky and hard stem. They also didn't have any licorice root available, which is something I buy a lot of. The service was also notably poor. The person working at the counter was cold, and unhelpful. Nothing here I will ever go back for. I'll stick to buying my spices and teas at the Good Food Store and Rosauers. The quality is much better and I can choose how much I...
