foosackly's - Dauphin St. — Restaurant in Mobile

This restaurant went above and beyond to take care of a mistake. We had a gathering downtown for Mardi Gras planned. I preordered a huge amount of chicken, fries and toast to be picked up at the dauphin st location on the way downtown (a 15-20 drive in light traffic). I decided to go set up our things on the parade route early and asked a friend to pick up the foo. When he arrived and unpacked it we realized they hadn’t put the chicken in the bag! We had about 25 kids to feed and it didn’t look good. We were parked inside the parade route and the barricades would be going up soon. I told my friend to forget it. There’s no way we can drive there and back in time. He decided to call. The restaurant picked up and said they had realized the mistake but couldn’t get in touch with us. They asked where we were and he gave them the address. They said the chicken is on the way. I doubted they would be able to wind through the closed streets and revelers to get to us but about 30 minutes later they showed up in the catering van with our one tray of chicken! The kids all ate and were happy for the whole parade.

We love Foosackly’s anyway but this was just exceptional service and...

Let me answer this local question....who's better... Zaxby's or Foosackly's.

I absolutely love this place! It's inexpensive, the chicken is amazing, the cole slaw is addictive and the sauces are great! Plus, I found out you can get the chicken "naked," meaning without the skin and fried. I didn't know they fried it with the skin on (still not sure that's accurate) but it was explained to me that it was. I'll have to look into it and update this.

Anyway, it's a great place that's JAMMED during lunch. Sure you'll have to stand in line - but it's so worth it.

Tip...if you get a drink make sure you tell them LIGHT ICE. Otherwise most of your cup will be ice and not your drink. However, if you're eating there you get free refills, so it's not a big deal. They're pretty boss so enjoy your $7.00 lunch....

Honestly this place was not good to me. The food was awful. We both got a chicken finger box and it was less than desirable. The fries and chicken fingers literally tasted like they were coated in shrimp ramen packets and fried. The drinks were also super watered down. The staff was also very rude to us. We are not from a place that has this restaurant and wanted to try something new as we passed through Mobile. The person standing at the drive thru taking our order asked us what we wanted, and we asked to see a menu as we did not know what they had. She got VERY upset about it and shoved the menu at us. Then after we ordered and pulled around to get our food, the person at the window practically threw the drinks and food at us. Definitely do not plan on...
