Hacienda San Miguel: House of Tequila — Restaurant in Mobile

If not for the great atmosphere and appearance of the restaurant this would be a 1 or less if i could. The beef is scarcely seasoned ground beef tastes like water it’s disgusting. I moved here from california and just before that, arizona just a short trip from the boarder of sonora mexico and have also been to Mexico to multiple restaurants. This food is white washed. Do not recommend it. It was so gross!!! Even the guacamole was trash. Its a shame they dont use the right meats for their tacos chimichangas burros or anything. They can learn something from doing a small amount of research on mexican culinary arts. If you have been out west, you know them. But filibertos a fast food restaurant is 30 times better 😆

Edit in response to owner response: The restaurant name is very misleading appearing to be traditional homestyle food but what you call tacos is tex mex. But its even a bit offensive to call that tex mex because theres no flavor so anyone who is from the area will be disappointed with the quality. I have had traditional food from the area of Juarez Mexico and it really is as simple as well seasoned and cooked shredded beef or pork topped with lime cilantro and onion with sauce accompanied on the side per request or as a complimentary option. Considering what yall consider tex mex is the main focus of the restaurant it should be in the name. Also the service was slow with 15% of the tables being used. I can only imagine how it is with a packed restaurant. I just ate at this restaurant with my husband, after we had this recommended to us by friends. I did not get my food until my husband finished eating his meal. The waitress noticed I didn’t have my food and she went and said something I supposed to cook. Finally, after my husband had finished, I got my meal and it was so salty that I could not even eat it. When the bill was presented for $52 and some odd cents, I told the waitress that I just did not think I could Or should pay all of that Being that I could not even eat my meal, Not to mention having to wait on it. I was offered no discount or even five dollars off for that matter. So I told the waitress I did not think I Should have to pay the whole bill. She agreed and took it to the manager. After waiting another 10 solid minutes, she finally returns with the bill that has $3.20 deducted from the total. $3.20 and that was it. That was The biggest INSULT of all… $3.20. I left out, leaving behind the takeout order that I ordered for my granddaughter to eat after her gymnastics class. NOT GOOD. My wife is mexican and from Arizona, so we decided to come and try it out. Lemme tell you its nowhere near good mexican food. My fajitas didn't even come out sizzling. The waiter walked up to give our food, and I was immediately worried, I didn't hear my food - bc usually fajitas come out sizzling. Nah, not these sad looking fajitas. The chicken and vegetables were not even charred a teeny tiny bit. The mexican rice doesn't even have traces of tomato, that would give it the red/orange color. OMG and the salsa is so bad. It's basically tomato paste. Swear it tastes like picante with some Cilantro in it. My wife had the Barbacoa tacos, highly do not recommend. She only ate one taco bc the barbacoa has a weird after taste. And the prices are RIDICULOUS - like why are they charging so much for just LUNCH. We got 2 lunch combos and a small queso and spent $50 without tip. Thats just wild with how gross the food was. It was just all over the worst "mexican" restaurant to eat at. Definitely not...
