I ordered Taziki's for lunch the other day. It was on a whim while I was in the area. I love Mediterranean food and when I get a chance to try a new Mediterranean place I take it. I love harissa sauce so I decided to try the harissa chicken gyro. Gyros come with chips and a side. I went the with the tomato and cucumber salad. You also get to pick a sauce with your meal. The honey tomato chutney sounded appealing. Since I was nearby my order took a few minutes to get ready. The wait wasn't long at all. Obviously harissa spices smell wonderful so my car ride home after picking up my food was nice. When I open my to go plate my eyes widened. The gyro was packed with chicken and vegetables. The tomato cucumber salad was seasoned well with oil and vinegar, feta cheese, and spices. It was probably the best tomato and cucumber salad I've had. Now I was not exactly sure what to do with the honey tomato chutney. So I did what one does with sauce with and chips available, I started dipping. This chutney had the most amazing flavor that I wanted a bottled asap. Now the harissa gyro was phenomenal. The chicken was juicy and tender. It seasoned well and as stated earlier packed with chicken. I couldn't have asked for a better prepared gyro. 5 stars for my time at Taziki's...
Read moreIt's great that this place has lots (and lots) of call-in orders...but for some reason they seem to feel that they need to cook all the call in orders (no matter how many there are) BEFORE they can begin to cook any orders for the people who are sitting in the dining room waiting. Maybe look into expanding your production capacity?
I understand that when a restaurant is busy there might be a wait, but we got there at 11:15 AM and there was one other table ahead of us and we waited 45 minutes for our food. But when we finally got our food after going back to the counter to inquire about it, both our meals were stone cold. It could have been a nice plate and probably would have been delicious except that it had been sitting for so long. My beef entree and my friends soup were almost inedible. And forget about asking them to take it back. At that point we were just grateful to have anything at all.
You can run a restaurant like this for a while, especially when it's trendy and new, but eventually this kind of disrespect for the customer...
Read moreSuch a shame, the delightful staff will be surprised when this place is shuttered. And, all because they've obviously skipped the secret to Greek chicken - refrigerated, overnight in a vinegar & olive oil marinade. Last month was authentic and succulent. Last week, obviously they let go of their own proven standards. Surprised, as well, a bit of the chicken tasted rotten, which I did not consume. That will take away your appetite, for sure. Perhaps this would have something to do with proper refrigeration, not only onsite, but producer quality and delivery protocols. Not my problem, I left hungry! Corporate needs to handle this, but for local staff to be delivered smelly meat and then cooking it, bad form. Someone can become ill. BTW, I am not a complaining Karen, but have a motive to retain a nice place, since I eat out often. Many thanks for giving...
