China Grill — Restaurant in Mocksville

After reading all of the nice reviews, my daughter and I went very much out of her way to find this little diner on our travels. When we entered the woman who I believe was the owner was not very friendly at all. Didn’t point out when she saw us looking at the menus on the wall, that the one right on the order desk was the only one that they were using… She waited for us to decide what we wanted and then when we walked up to her (and we were the only people in there) She curtly said we’re out of all that? We ordered two meals and a side of eggrolls. The meals were OK, but the eggrolls sadly were the worst I have ever tasted… I’m sorry to say, I feel like the oil must have been rancid, definitely had not been changed out in a very long time. They appear to be a small mom and pop café, so I did not want to complain to them… The inside is very unkept boxes on every single table and outdated signage everywhere, very tattered and torn yet nothing a good long days work couldn’t correct… And make it more inviting and may even make them happier folks… At the end, my daughter went to use the restroom. The women’s was out of order the woman abruptly told her to use the men’s which was fine… But when she went in there, there was no TP or paper towels… When my shy daughter told her there was no toilet paper, She seemed a bit perturbed about it and very very slowly got a big roll and replaced it. I’m sorry, but walking out I saw even more trash right in front of the door and all over the small parking area, etc. so I don’t know if they were just having a bad couple weeks and could not find time to sweep and tidy the outside, but by the looks of the inside, I think it’s just the way it is… I really hate to leave such a bad review I don’t know if I’ve ever left such a bad one… I am hoping it will just inspire them to take more pride in...

Long Post, but must read! The food is decent, the service however is absolutely terrible! Placed an order for pickup, 2 entrees, 14.99 each, 1 lg crab Rangoon, and 1 egg roll. Husband goes in to pick it up and was charged $50.80 (I'll let you do the math on that and see how much we were over charged! Each entree was 14.99, 5.99 crab rangoons, and 1.99 for eggroll) He brings the food out and the eggroll is missing so he runs back in to tell her and she insists I didnt order it. So, I went in, because I did in fact order it, but she was too busy interrupting me on the phone while I was ordering it to tell me to get the dinner combo instead (which I didn't want). So inside I'm telling her I did order it, reminded her of the conversation almost word for word, all while she is telling me I didn't order it, she didn't hear me, blah blah. She was flat out rude and unable to accept that the error was made on her end! So, after several people entered hearing this entire ordeal she decided to give me the eggroll and I went on my way! Get back to the car and learn what we paid, did the math (which didn't include the eggroll because I "didn't order it" and realized we were overcharged by $10!! And yes, I included the 3% cc fee after taxes. So, not only did the rude employee get our order wrong, she insisted I was the one that made the mistake, and they overcharged us by 10$! Hope she enjoys her fat tip for her rude service! We will NEVER...

I don’t live in NC I was passing thru my car broke down here so I had to stay the night and I found this place . Food is very good here and the lady is very nice lady . I see many people saying she is rude no us Americans just simply misunderstand other cultures and just because she doesn't speak perfect English we are so quick to judge her and say she is rude. Maybe it’s time to reflect on yourselves and see how an immigrant family pull 15 hour days 7 days a week just to feed their family in America! Respect her as a hard working parent hard working female that she is. Restaurant workers have to deal with hundreds of people daily it gets very overwhelming and long days draining you especially as a small business owner . If we like Asian food so much we should respect the hard working people that make it or any other people for that matter . If it wasn’t for immigrants like this family we would all be eating Macdonald 3 times a day 😂😂😂😂. I don’t even know this lady I seen here just once today and she got to the point quick and I like how she works it’s not rude it’s called working and getting things done.
