This is the worst dinning experience I've ever had. I wish I could give this place negative stars. The drinks were great and our waitress (Veronica) was good. That's the only decent thing I can say about this place. We both ordered medium well steaks. We've been to dozens of high end steakhouses and they have all butterflied medium well Steak to ensure it is cooked properly, but not this place. When I got my steak it was medium (at best) and my boyfriends was medium rare. We sent our steaks back to have them cooked correctly. When we recieved them they were the same (medium rare and medium) we sent them back again but this time I requested to have them butterflied. They came back out, but this time neither one was butterflied. Half of my steak was very well done (and dry) while the other half was charred on the outside and very pink in the middle. I told them to just forget about my plate because, by that point, I was completely turned off and ready to leave. Not to mention the rice pilaf that they give you is unseasoned and the "mixed vegetables" look like public school lunch.
The chef/owner didn't come out to ask me if I wanted something else until after the third time I sent my food back. Here's the kicker: he later told us that they don't serve medium well steak. Ummmm, excuse me? 1) I've never been to a steakhouse that says something like that and 2) what is the point of asking someone how they want their steak prepared if you're not going to prepare it the way they want it?
The worst part was the bill. Typically when something like this happens a resturaunt will make it right by removing the food they messed up and possibly comping your bill for inconvenience. Not this time. They slapped down a $300 bill with full chargers for EVERYTHING. I was appalled. Why would you even think that it was ok to charge us full price for that disgusting food? When we talked to them about the bill, the owner removed just my steak and that's it. Smh.
At the end of the day we tipped the waitress 15% because the awful food was not her fault. Before we walked out the owner asked for our names, shook my boyfriends hand and then said that he'll take care of us the next time we come in. You decided to want to take care of us AFTER a botched dinning experience AND charging us full price with not one care to make it right until we ASKED? I've had better food at outback and Longhorns. I'm not sure how this place has almost 5 stars, but we had a 0...
Read moreJune 2023 - we made our annual trip for our anniversary. The broken Grecian statue is still there only in worse repair but this year I did not notice weeds.
As usual, the service was fabulous, but as it has been the last few years the food was very disappointing. Just average. They used to do a relish tray years ago and that is gone. The bread is really yummy. The salads are nothing special at all, including their homemade garlic dressing, which was a disappointment. Their appetizer special has been the same stuffed mushrooms with sausage from year to year to year. I had the perch and the fish was great, but the side of vegetables absolutely boring. It was a broccolini and green beans and had no flavor at all. I paid the $5 extra for the au gratin potatoes and those are not worth it. My husband had the ribs and those looked/tasted good. My dirty martini was delicious and the glass of wine pour was very generous still, I did not feel the $140 bill was worth it.
June 2022 - This is been our special go to place for many years. While the food has remained pretty consistent (last year mine was very disappointing), the service is fabulous. There were a few things we were disappointed in in this trip.
Upon arrival I was surprised they no longer have valet parking. This was for a Saturday night at 6 PM so if they were doing it at any time I would’ve thought they would do it then. Not that I use valet parking, but others do.
While walking up to the restaurant I noticed excessive weed growth in their landscaping. And the very large Grecian statue near the front entrance is beheaded. Not classy at all.
For two of us with moderate meals (but three drinks) our bill with tip was just over $200. I do not feel we received...
Read moreI wanted to like this place...there were too many issues. Dry-aged, bone in ribeye was severely undercooked (rare) and the leanest ribeye I've ever seen. It was unpleasant and chewy. The flavor was ok, but it was not prime. Shrimp de Jonghe...rubbery shrimp and hastily thrown together topping (rushed). The bone-in filet was excellent. Ordered rare. Decent wine selection, service was sub-par. We had a small table, and the dishes weren't getting bussed initially so the waitress would show up with plates and her hands full and just sort of make motions of putting it down which eventually ended up being the guest's responsibility to move things around. I'm sorry, this no frill stuff? For this price? If the food was remarkable, it would be bearable...but it's not. No offer for coat check, had to ask and then it's self-serve. The twice baked potato was a $6 upgrade and was a very small potato. This place just isn't what it's trying to be. Perhaps at one time, but no longer. They did comp the steak, which I didn't ask for. They have signs about a dress code. We followed it...only to realize no one else was. It really brought the ambiance down. We had reservations on OpenTable, but they acted like if it wasn't on the "written down list" it wasn't a priority. The hostess said, "Put them at the extra table". It was a small, table for two in the middle with no privacy. I left feeling insulted.
What are you trying to do Mr. Benny's? If I'm paying $300-$400 for dinner for two...you should have more respect for...
