Can you go lower than one star???
I was in Moline and when I was done at Walmart, discovered to my delight they not only had a Popeyes right there BUT a quick call confirmed they also have a Tuesday special of two pieces of dark for under $2. Went to the drive-through and placed my order but was told it would be 15 minutes as they were just dropping the dark, mild recipe chicken to be cooked. My order was #46 and after I paid at 850pm, I went inside to wait. There now more cars behind me in line too...
Inside the lobby was chaos bordering on anarchy as there was an injured or sick employees recovering and several people waiting, and waiting on their orders. I overheard several staff openly question why their manager had just left in the midst of this mess, and saying they too would love to just book.
Finally one of the persons who had ordered got beligerent and demanded his money back for maybe $30+ . I watched as the woman who was either a manager or supervisor take at least 6-8 minutes to refund his two orders, all the while this man was swearing and condemn ing all. When this was over I learned she had to go throw up due to the stress. Felt sorry for her...
Now 20 minutes had gone by and was informed they still had not even begun cooking the dark meat chicken - there were only FOUR LEGS sitting there and they had been there for at least a half hour as it was now nearly 930pm and not only did I not have my chicken, I could see they still had not even started cooking ANY!!!
As several people from outside had banged on the doors to get it inside (they close the lobby at 9pm), it was a constant demand for refunds and to talk to a manager. And there were at least five or more cars sticking it out in line as well.
Finally, I gave up and one of the staff put together a box of white meat chicken - NOT what I ordered OR desired - and I left some 50 Minutes AFTER I placed my order for thighs. The other items had been there since I arrived with no fresh fries, chicken (of any kind), bisquits, etc. That staff profusely apologized but I had a three hour drive home and hadn't eaten since early morning. Read moreIt’s sad how this place went from booming to BAD in a matter of 2-3 years. The last time I visited the inside of this location the trash was overflowing, the soda machine had mold (where the soda comes from) visible from the outside of the machine & the floor was full of trash/crumbs like they hadn’t swept ever. This was during the pandemic. Dining in any restaurant wasn’t an option for a long while. However when they finally did reopen that is how I found it. But HOW when nobody’s eaten inside for MONTHS!? smh! On top of all that, the staff was literally making food (no gloves on) & on FaceTime. Which bothers me even more because we all take our phones to the bathroom, use them while in the bathroom etc. Eating at any fast food place is “at your own risk” so this review is what it is. But to do certain stuff with customers in the lobby & not care is what blows my mind & shows the level of carelessness ppl can have. & why this location is no longer thriving!
During individual visits they’ve literally run out of chicken/sides, chicken had the flavor of flour (no seasoning), I was charged for sauces, they knowingly served me a box full of hard chicken that I had to leave my house & return just to get there & be told by the manager that she couldn’t refund me my money at that moment & to come back the next day. So that means 3 visits to Popeyes within 24 hours but no chicken. I’ve sat in the drive thru & waited 5-10 minutes many times just to get my order taken. One time they were having a disciplinary meeting with a line full of cars. Being first at the window I had to say “hello” 2-3 times & kept being told to “hold on”.
The staff is ALWAYS in the back smoking cigarettes & I’m almost 100% sure weed too.
I really could go on & on about how pathetic this location is from the staff to management. With the exception of a few ppl with good customer service that make you give them the benefit of the doubt simply because you want chicken! Just to turn around & be disappointed again! SMH!
I hope somebody with common sense & the right leadership skills gets in there & makes the necessary positive changes that...
Read moreMy feedback from this most recent experience: It has been a very long time since i have gone to Popeyes. Almost every single experience in the past has been a bad one. This one was absolutely no different. I drove by chick fil a and decided to give this location another try. Shame on me. Pulled up to the drive through with no one in front of me and the lobby is closed. Met with please wait for us to take your order. Ok. After a few minutes, finally placed my order. Was told it will be 4 minutes for the shrimp. Ok. Pulled to the window, paid, received my drink and asked to pull in to the parking lot. Ok. After waiting for about 10 minutes, another car pulls next to me and shortly thereafter a guy came out and gave them food. He went in got them some ranch dressing and as they were leaving asked what my order was. I told him. He said thats weird, 2 of the same order. I will be right back with yours. Waited another 5 minutes and he comes out with my order. Says he gave me ranch dressing and cocktail sauce. I asked him for extra sweet heat. He said that would be an upcharge. I said i asked when i orderd for no cocktail sauce and extra sweet heat and then had to show him my receipt as proof. He went back in and got my sweet heat. I was finally able to leave with my food. Got back to work and found 2 complete orders in my bag, not what i ordered. Which brings up another point from the time i entered the drive thru to leaving was almost 20 minutes. I work for an hourly wage. Every minute i am not at work i dont get paid. I did not get paid for my almost hour long break to go get fast food from your restaurant..... Every time i visit it is just another round of disappointment. I am very saddened by every experience i have had with this location and after not going there for almost a year, this experience has proven that will never change.
