Been here more times than a body should..the Biscuits n Gravy, or, the BnG Slammer? Check the special too, if it is sausage centric, I'd recommend it. Sausage here is best of the common a.m. proteins.

The BnG is, AWESOME, here. Consistently. The sausage itself is good and plentiful! Late in the day maybe needs a shot of water or milk to keep consistency, however, I've never been disappointed..EVER. I have had a sausage w jalapeno skillet special, breakfast sandwiches, 2 eggs w protein hash browns n toast. All deliver the same great value here. Service has always been comfort cafe with a smile and community coffee pots where they see the need..I like that! Cash only so just be prepared and know why it's cheap..NO flocking swipe fees, percent of sale fees, terminal charges, fatted banks.

My vote for best of Monroe breakfast, hands down!

2.17.18 -- still love the BnG, just not as frequently these days. Like so many places in 2018, service is an issue occasionally, with new faces that aren't there the next time in. Not gonna stop me from coming in, but as I said, not as often.

My husband and I came in THE CORNER CAFE CALLED AMYS. To have breakfast and we ordered our food ,as you know you see them at the grill cooking. We were so disgusted with what we saw... EVERYONE LISTEN TO THIS .... the one guy cooking has a beard it was in a wrap mind you he kept pulling the wrap back exposing his hair RIGHT OVER OUR FOOD... scratching his bread... NOW HERE THE REALLY NASTY THING .he had no gloves and reached around to his sweaty and hairy nasty back and scratched it several times right in front of us and with his sweaty nasty hairy back hands grabbed the bread out and put it in the toaster ...OMG did we really just see this... well we told our waitress what happened and she said in a nasty disrespectful way "so what you want me to cancel your order and before I coudl answer she turned to him and said "cancel the that order they said you were scratching your back and walked away from us .. REALLY wow WE WOULD NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN and we are making sure we let everyone know about our experience NASTY....IN ORDER TO POST THIS REVIEW I HAVE TO GIVE 1 STAR IT DON'T ALLOW ME TO GIVE A NEGATIVE MINUS 5 STARS ..SO YOU KNOW I WOUDLNT GIVE NOT 1 STAR FOR THIS...

Depending on the day, you may get fast service or it might take a bit for your food to be served. It really all depends on if its busy or not which is expected. I've only had 1 issue with my food since they switched management awhile back, but it was corrected and taken off the bill. I would have still paid for it as the cook was new and still in training, and I'm a chef, so I always factor that in if its a new employee. It does get a little chilly in the winter if you sit by the door area up front but plenty of places to sit so it doesn't bother me personally. Food is always delicious, the dessert is a favorite of mine but I usually dont have room because the food portion sizes are just right for me. I recommend to put this on your list of stops if your a local or just passing through town. I only gave it 4 stars cause nothings perfect in life and in the restraunt industry. There is always room for improvement. Staff is always super...
