Sunrise Donut Café — Restaurant in Monroe

It's okay.

The espresso roast here is delicious, and the atmosphere is fun and bright. Music selection is always good.

Their chai is a bit bland or diluted, which was surprising given the ingredients that go into a chai latte. Oat milk is available.

The food is pre-prepared, which makes substitutions limited. Also, they advertise sandwiches on croissants, but if they are out of croissants, they put it on an English muffin without warning. When we asked for it to be corrected, the employee was not willing to take any corrective action.

The sandwiches, even when they come as the menu describes, are nothing special.

The donuts are dry, and the toppings are novel, but nothing too impressive. It is fun getting to customize the donut toppings. I wish the icing options weren't all hot.

There are so many positive things to say about this place I don’t even know where to start. The staff is SO friendly and inviting its amazing! The moment I walked in there they made me feel like I was an old friend, both times, different staff. The donuts are freaking cool, and taste as good and/or better than they look. I know I’m setting the bar here but it’s true. The coffee is superb, not like your chain coffee places you will find in Monroe or other locations. Lastly the atmosphere and look/vibe of the place is on trend yet quaint and cozy. They have done well with the space they have.

Very cute place and friendly staff. Went at 7am so it was busy. Only 2 people working but definitely could use another hand at that time. I ordered regular cup of coffee, croissant with egg and cheese and 2 donuts the flavor of the day. Raspberry cheesecake. Breakfast sandwich was ok and the donuts had good texture but the icing was way too sticky. Stuck to my teeth and fingers so badly that I had to wash my hands before leaving. Maybe that’s normal for their icing but not my preference. Flavor was ok but can’t say it tasted like raspberry. They have a lot of flavor options so will definitely return...
