Caribou Coffee — Restaurant in Monroe

I placed an order online and ordered 2 drinks and a swig coffee cup coozie. When I arrived at the window I was told they were out of items for my drink I ordered, I kindly said that’s okay and to give me anything sweet. The staff then asked me what the swig coozie was.. there was multiple pink ones hanging in the window of the drive through. I ordered a different color and asked if I could get the one I ordered. I was then told they didn’t have it and the staff walked away. I waited for my drinks and was told to have a nice day. I asked if I could get a refund for the $15 dollar swig coozie and was told “yeah”. No questions were asked. The girl then said have a nice day and tried to walk away- I asked when I would receive my refund and she said “depends on your bank” and closed the window and walked away. At this point I was going to be late for work so I had to leave. I only have my online order that states I ordered and paid for the swig coozie, that I never received. Caribou is my favorite coffee place. I was very excited to see one down in this area. The baristas are very nice and friendly. I went in to order so I could leisurely enjoy my coffee. I ordered 3 drinks and an egg souffle. They did not have a coffee carrier for me as they had run out of them. They have a VERY small area with 3 tables that are close together. Not conducive to have a leisurely coffee. They have a very large outdoor seating area under a roof and a drive thru. While most coffee places want people to stay and enjoy, this Caribou does not seem to want that. Since it's been in the 90s the past several weeks and I work outdoors, I did not want to sit outside to enjoy my coffee. While service is slow, the employees are friendly and nice so I can overlook slow service when the servers are pleasant. Drive-thru or inside, you will have to wait a little, but you'll be fine. The only disappointing thing for me is the layout of this particular Caribou which is a corporate decision, not the people who are working there. I appreciate the people who work there who are...

**editing my review- customer service sent me a gift card to rectify the coffee below. This time I got a hot campfire latte- and asked for half sweet. The flavor was good, super liked the marshmallow. Was still very sweet much on the sweet side though. Next time I will ask for 1/4 sweet, and fingers crossed the sweetness will be the right balance!

Could we normalize lattes without a pound of sugar? I got the northern light latte, thinking it meant light coffee. I should have asked or searched the menu first, because it meant that they use lite sugar free syrup. I asked for a half a pump.

I like flavor, a little bit of sweetness, but this latte tastes like the iced coffee version of sweet tea on steroids.

It’s so undrinkable. I wish that I could actually taste the coffee, but the only thing I can taste is syrupy sweet blasphemy.

I’m so so disappointed I didn’t taste it before leaving, and that I wasted 6.50 on a drink I can’t force myself to drink.
