While visiting the lovely city of Monroe Michigan, my family decided to dine in at Misty’s plant based foods. The building was beautifully furnished and the atmosphere was phenomenal. The owner, along with all of her employees greeted up upon entry and happily described the entire menu to us. After some thought we decided to go with four Mexican bowls, three strawberry lemonade, and a regular lemonade. I noticed that the prices were not listed on the menu, but continued with the order due to the friendly nature of the establishment. The cashier took each of our names, letting us know that the staff wanted to familiarize themselves with their customers to develop a better relationship with their client base. After the interaction was finished, and I glanced down at the balance due, $100 dollars...at this point I knew that either the food was going to be top tier, or I was going to be in for a disappointing lunch. Unfortunately, it was the latter. We had sat down to wait four our meals to be brought out, which only took a short amount of time. Upon receiving our meals we couldn’t help but noticed that the meals were served cold, not a deal breaker. The unfortunate portion started when my mother pulled a hair longer then her arm from her bowl, needless to say, the hair was not her own...we also noticed the meek amount of food within each bowl. I do not have any experience working in the restaurant/hospitality industry, but I do happen to cook my own meals from time to time. The cost of the contents within each bowl could not total more than $5 dollars. I can not complain about the taste of the lunch, but our appetites where definitely squandered by the sight of another individuals hair within the meal.

Needless to say, misty’s plants were...

IF MISTYS REPLIES TO THIS REVIEW : DO NOT give me one of those ‘SAPPY, “we are sorry”, WISH YOU WOULD HAVE TOLD US WHEN YOU WERE HERE, replies.’ YOU KNOW YOUR FOOD IS OVERPRICED. Corrupt. Delicious food, but HOLY COW the prices are up through the roof. $18 for basically every item on their menu. I always leave paying $30 for a smoothie and lunch. Don’t get me started on those smoothie prices. They don’t even have their prices on their website, they don’t wanna scare anyone away. Like I said, the food tastes good, but I come here, 3 times a year? They need to drop their prices. They stay open and have no business most days is what the owner said…well, then drop your prices. Everything is saying, don’t go here… I even asked if they give discounts for cancer patients (because they sell that cancer drink) but they all said no.. what a shame… an organic restaurant but the prices are outrageous.. trust me, it’s not normal prices, don’t believe them. They are literally selling lettuce charging $10 for it. Greedy, shameful. That’s not what the Bible says to do, and yet they call...

now now I am a selectitarian which means that I prefer vegetables and plant-based stuff over over meat and and other things but as far as as far as what they have is that not only do they have smoothies you can make them and they can make them anyway you want they can add dietary they can add you know whatever you want they they tailor it to what you you want and and what you need and have other things like they have a like they have a plant-based they have like a plant-based cake they have like and you can eat the flowers they have a they have salads and wraps and all that sort of thing it is it is a little bit expensive but it would be really nice if they lower their prices and all that sort of thing and they have a Braille menu I'm it's a independently owned restaurant there is wheelchair accessible just plenty of parking so I would really recommend you to you know try it out you know I kind of wish they would lower their prices though and they were deliverThis is Tanya Smith and and I live here in...

Nice staff, fresh ingredients, clean environment. I liked that they use cloth towels, instead of paper towels in the bathroom. However, their prices are ridiculously high and they don’t post them anywhere online or in the store. Then there’s a 3% credit card surcharge (that they don’t mention). The food was fresh, but definitely not worth $21. The in store menu doesn’t describe the dishes, so the everything bagel was not what I expected (a kale salad on top of a bagel). Very odd paring, who wants a soggy bagel? I was also disappointed to see my carry out order in a styrofoam container. Looking over previous reviews I came across this photo of the menu 4 yrs ago. The prices have doubled since then!!??

A huge shout out to Misty! My diet is hugely restricted, making going out for a meal incredibly challenging. I went in to Misty's Plant Based Foods expecting nothing more than a bowl of rice. Misty took the time to explore what I could eat and created the most amazing meal - brown rice, coconut milk, histamine friendly fruit, and sunflower butter. Her knowledge, time, and energy were very much appreciated, as well as her concern for my health. My husband picked up a Mexican bowl, full of flavor and fresh, whole foods. They also offer freshly made smoothies and coffee. It's a great atmosphere with amazing food, and we can't wait to get back again.
