This place literally has the absolute BEST Mexican food I have ever tasted in the USA. I love authentic Mexican food. I've been to Mexico more times than I can count as the food, culture, and people are some of my favorite in all the world. The food here was fresh and delicious. The guacamole literally to die for, the tripe and lengua tacos were so good. The corn tortillas again delicious. Horchata is homemade and not some store bought over produced mess. I could go on and on. Then there is the atmosphere it's absolutely gorgeous in here. Hand painted tables and chairs, beautiful light fixtures, great music playing and wonderful service. Extremely nice employees. I can not say enough good things about this restaurant. I still can not believe I've driven by it so many times and haven't stopped! Shame on me. I could have been having this amazing food all along!! Do yourself a favor, come here and eat!! You will not be disappointed! This is definitely my new favorite and new go to restaurant! Thank you SanJuan for a wonderful evening with incredible food!! We will definitely...

Also, they sell food by the pound. Asorted drinks, like Aguas frescas, cofee, champurrado, and arroz con leche. If you want a little peace of Mexico in Monroe, you can't miss this spot.

I was pleasantly surprised. It is delicious, not too sweet but full of flavors. If you enjoy a nice piece of bread with your coffee or hot chocolate, I definitely recommend it.
They are also offering alcoholic...
Read moreMy food was PHENOMENAL. I had a sope, a taco, and a tamale. All were excellent. This is the closest thing I have found to food from Mexico. Our server was very friendly and the decoration of the restaurant was very cool.
Unfortunately the live vocalists were so loud I couldn't carry a conversation with my table. Here are two constructive pieces of advice for the restaurant: Turn the music volume down or at least have your musicians take breaks. Eating out is social (especially on a Sunday afternoon) and being able to carry a conversation is important. try to get the chips a little less done. About every other chip was hard. I've seen many other reviews...
